The Dakota Incident question

I'm wanting to play the solitaire scenario The Dakota Incident from Communique #42. For the movement rules for the Klingon ship attacking the freighter, it says,
"The Klingon ship targeted on the freighter will move at a Baseline Speed of 16 (no acceleration or deceleration) on Turn #1. (Thereafter it will not move at all, but it will make tactical maneuvers to keep the freighter in its FA firing arc.) It must move like a seeking weapon toward the freighter"
So, if it "will not move at all...", how can it "...move like a seeking weapon toward the freighter"?

It will move in the first turn like a seeking weapon towards the freighter. After that, it will just Tac to keep the freighter in front of it. That's how I read it anyway.

Wolverin61 is correct.

Ah, I see. Thanks guys. It's just that I found the sequencing of the instructions confusing. Once it has stopped, there should be no more need for seeking instructions. Anyway it's all clear now

More questions, if I may
1. Can the Fed ship leave the map - I'm thinking 'location' map, temporarily placing a third map panel on the table? The rules don't say it can't. The Klingon ships can't, but the Fed isn't mentioned in that context.
2. Do the Klingon ships reinforce their shields?
3. Does the Klingon ship attacking the freighter also turn to bring unfired weapons to bear, as the other two ships do?
4. Can I move the Klingon ships, in accordance with the seeking weapon rules, such that I try to get as few weapons to bear as possible?
5. This is pedantic, but I assume and 'Emergency transport' is the same thing as a 'Emergency Evacuation' (5E7)?

1. "Time Limit: The scenario continues until the Federation ship has been destroyed or has left the map." So, yes, I'd say the Fed can leave the map (since one of its objectives is to exit the "right side of the right map")
2. Doesn't say, but I don't see why they wouldn't.
3. The ship attacking the freighter Tacs to keep the freighter in its FA arc and fires everything that bears at the end of the turn, so I'd say it doesn't.
4. I'd say no.
5. Yes. And it is pedantic.

They move toward the Fed CA like a seeking weapon would move at speed 16 with no accel. or decel. When they get to a 4-hex range, they fire every bearing weapon.
If they still have weapons that could be fired if they turned, they will turn one hexside as soon as their turn mode allows and fire those weapons.
This also means that if they can turn
again and fire more weapons that could be fired, they will do so.
Hope this helps. It may help with the understanding, but not with winning.
