Disruptor ranges

Is there a list anywhere of what ships are restricted to Range 15 for their disruptors? Does it always say it on the ship card, and if it doesn't say it on the ship card do we assume Range 25? I'm thinking specifically of the Orion LR at this point, but the question is valid for all disruptor-armed ships.

The 'weapons allowed' list for Orion ships in the Reference rulebook makes no mention of ranges, so that's no help ;)

It will say on their ship card.

EDIT: Mistaken statement removed. The above sentence is still correct and is the overriding principle.

(The only exception was half of the F5 card, where the range restriction was missing from one scale, but present on the other. This was fixed in the revised ship card.)

Thanks, Mike. The only thing is, on the LR card it says range 15. My son seemed to think that this is no longer the case, as you say, "All Orions use full range disruptors". Is that still true for the LR, then, and the card is incorrect?

...and so I can quote chapter and verse, is there a chapter and verse for this :) ?

Well, crap. And I just looked at the LR card for something else.

OK, let me go and edit the entry above and look at the card again tonight. (I won't be able to look at the card again until very late tonight.)

But, the card rules. I do not remember seeing the LR get "revised" at any point. So, if the card says "range 15", then the LR has range 15 disruptors.

The LR is teeny tiny, so it makes sense.

OK, I now understand your son's confusion. The problem is this: The note that the LR's disruptors are range 15 is in the weapons list, not anywhere else. Since (5L1) is supposed to supersede any prior on-card weapons lists, and (5L1) does not list range 15 disruptors for the LR, he has a completely valid point.

I am going to have to kick this up to Steve. However, I will not be able to do that until next week when he gets back from his trip.

Can I please ping this thread to get Steve's take on this? Thanks :)

I am waiting for an answer on the ED issue. Unfortunately, Steve is bogged down with other issues. At worst it will get done in preparation for the next Communique.
