[This is being posted here at SVC's request]
These are posted to the gallery on
starshipmodeler.com (a very good resource site for painting techniques and references). From what I can gather, the gent who did these hand-painted them in the early 1990's. Very impressive stuff.

Now this is a fine gallery of painted ships!! awesome work guys! I shall add mine once they are completed.. and maybe a few one at a time here and there..
but anyhow.. wow! I have a long way to go to catch up to the rest of you!
the link to the ships done on starship modeler is awesome!!
I did have a question though...
the USS Reliant modeled miniature on that link....
it is fantastic! since there was never a Star Trek II reliant type designed ship in the Original Series..
and since that design differs from the Movie designs, and such.. would it be too much of a stretch towards the copyrights and license rights to create a miniature that shares some of the principle aesthetics of the "Reliant" class star ship design??
I mean I would think because the ship is different from the movie version, and it is in TOS style which fits the SFU and since it was not ever shown in the original series TV show and such, that it would be fair game..
I could be wrong, but I just had to ask?

Starsuperion -
Please read the instructions for these galleries. Comments are to be kept to a minimum in the galleries, to allow the threads to be focused on pictures.
You can make any mini kitbash you want to, but SVC has already stated that in the SFU the NCL is the "Reliant"-type ship.

Federation X-Ships (kitbashes and scratchbuilds)
Advanced Technology Command Cruiser (CX):
Advanced Technology Galactic Survey Cruiser (GSX):

.
Modeled after the
art in Module X1.
GSX and CX together:
Advanced Technology Destroyer (DDX):
Advanced Technology Scout (SCX):

Like the GSX, I drilled into the saucer to attach the sensor dishes. I thought I had a pic of the holes drilled, but I can’t find it. You can still see the lines that I drew in sharpie on the
assembled mini to help guide where I drilled. Like the non-X version, the
ship in Module X1 is similar to the
combat variant counterpart.
Here’s all the Advanced DD type hulls
Three Advanced Technology Frigates (FFX):

These have added an ‘B’ deck with torpedoes and an enlarged impulse deck in accordance with the
module X1 artwork.
And my whole X-ship fleet ready to take on the ISC and the Andromedans.
More pics are found on my flickr account, just clock the “My Miniatures link below in my signature.
