FCOL Game Chat?

Has anyone played FCOL with a game chat?

I would like to get a campaign together, and it seems like game chat would speed everything up (way less typing).

I've looked around, and I really like Xfire (XFire.com). Its mostly free (add supported, but ads are not intrusive. Most other require a server to be set up, such as Team Speak or Vintrillo. This doesn't require it, and acts as a friends list. Also, there is a Mac version of XFire called iFire (http://ifire.games4mac.de/us/).

Skype works pretty well, too. We use it for a variety of things, MMO's to long distance RPG table-top gaming.

I use Discord.

I'm a bit surprised you suggest Xfire. Xfire used to be very popular, but it's no longer widely used, and I think it was shut down or replaced a while ago (or at least the version you mentioned).

For FCOL game chat, players have used several options over the years:
Xfire/iFire – suggested early on, lightweight and friend-list based, but largely discontinued now.
Skype – works well for voice chat in MMOs and tabletop RPGs.
Discord – currently the most popular choice for coordinating campaigns and group chat.
So today, Discord is the recommended solution for FCOL campaigns.
