Star Fleet Battlestations!

I heard that ADB was talking to Gorilla games about bringing the SFU to Battlestations, so I went and checked out thier
http://www.battlestations.info/index.html]website and found quite a bit.
The game is in the same vein as Space Hulk and Doom and has expansions ranging from the standard campaign packs to Mythos horror It should port nicely into the SFU.
I would like to request that Scenario SG31-"Intruder Alert" from S1 be the first to be converted to this new game as it'd be a perfect fit.

I'm *hugely* excited about this project, Battlestations is a wonderful system! The prospect of actually moving the crew about the bridge and other stations of SFU starships while having space adventures sounds like great fun to me
Here's hoping it sees release sooner rather than later!

Dear Friends,
An implication of this the SFU Battlestations! project is that there should be SFU figure miniatures, to complement the standard figures which appear to be in 15mm.

malleman is already working on test pieces. These are larger than 15mm but malleman has 15mm in the works too.

Awright... Burt / Matt,
Are those minis you purchased and are repurposing as SFU minis... or are those conversions of existing minis... or are those scratch built SFU minis?

I would have to say conversions of existing mini's. From what I saw in Matt's "lab", he had to resculpt the uniform necklines on some and add new hand weapons on others.
You should have seen him at Origins. He had to look at every figure mini they had.
When we were flying home, airport security had to open and inspect our carry-on luggage as they could not tell what the lumps of metal were in our bags.

From what I heard on SFU on call, (
http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/ta ... 702&cmd=tc ), ADB is haveing a rediculous time trying to find sculptors to do a set a set of PD minis. I'm thinking SVC and co. would love to talk to malleman if those are actual sculpts, (if they aren't already).

I love
http://www.battlestations.info/index.html I have all the core books and expansions (though none of the canned adventure things).
Based on the fig bases would the SFU version be converted to hex based ship modules then? Battlestations uses a hex space map but all the inside-the-ship movement/human combat is done on a square grid.
The system is a lot of fun. The only part I don't see as translating well is the concept of static ship designs in SFU. Battlestations ships are made of of module tiles that can be arranged in any way you like within a set ship pattern and a few simple rules. For example, engines point backward but where you stick those engines is really up to you.

The above figures look suspiciously like those produced by Victory Force Miniatures:

They very well could be.

I believe you may well be right.
I know Matt has excelled at converting a set of plastic humanoid type figures into the various SFU archeo-types. These look to be Victory Force Miniatures "TNG" era spacefarers with uniform / weapon modifications to represent TOS era heroes.
It's a great job, but it's too bad it's such a conversion as ADB would not be able to cast/produce them for everyone else. It does seem to be a relatively easy conversion to make at home though, so I may consider it myself.

I posted this on the miniature thread a while back.
http://www.starfleetgames.com/federatio ... php?t=2881
I used hex bases to give them the SFU feel.
I got to talk to Jeff (the owner) of VFM at Origins and told him that he should talk to SVC. I have been itching for some STOS minis for a while, so I decided to convert these for the fun of it.
I also purchased some 15mm from Rebelminis to convert. I will post pics when I get further along.
Scoutdad, I also found this post that you may have missed.
