Bonus Cards?

In the latest Communique, and indeed in all the Communiques I remember, there is a mention of 'Bonus Cards':
"Many stores have already signed up, and prizes (a series
of “bonus cards� used to give ships a special ability) are being
mailed out to those stores".
Is there any way in which we faithful fans could possibly get their hands on these? It seems a shame if there are game universe items that are kind of out of reach to the dedicated players, especially as they sound like a lot of fun!
I for one would be willing to pay for these if they were sold either as 'real' items, or as electronic downloads on e23.
