In FC, is the Franz Joseph DD (ship card 913) the DD from SFB, and the FJ DD Refit (ship card C5) the SFB DD+?

Thanks

Ship card C5 is a playtest card for the General War DD, DDG, and DDL. It shows the playtest versions of the DD+, DDG+, and DDL+.
Ship card 913 is the Middle Years DD. It shows the DD.
The General War DDG and DDL were included in Booster 91 (forgot the ship card numbers).
There is currently no final version of the General War DD. To get the effective equivalent, take ship card C5 and delete the drone rack that is common to all three versions.

Hope that answers the question.

IIRC, Ship card #913 is the DD+, the "advanced general war design".

Card C5 is a special 'FC only' one since it has an extra drone rack that is not present in SFB.

The unrefitted DD is in Briefing #2.

Yeah, I am flipping through annex G1 and comparing. I only play FC, but I am interested in the start years for ships.

I see there are newer annexes. Are those updated? I mean, if buy G3 does it contain everything in G1 plus new stuff. I may buy it.

Also, when can you assume that older ships ended their tours of duty For example, when the NCA comes out, how long until CAs are decomissioned, or when an upgrade happens, how long until all older versions are replaced?

A general answer is allright, I am not expecting a list or something.

Eric,

FC doesn't have "start dates" as such. A ship is either available or not. We have two settings right now: Middle Years and General War. A given ship is either available for the Middle Years or the General War (or both), or it isn't. Nothing shows up "half-way through" a setting. You can either use it, or you can't. You don't have to worry about anything being phased in or phased out.

On the other question, yes, G3 includes all of the information from G1 and G2, plus everything up to when it was published.

I am more interested in getting to know the background better. That is why I ask. So, is G3 complete? I realize it is SFB. But if I am writing a historical scenario, I need to make sure, in general, the ships are available. As it is, with the info presented, I might write a pre-general War scenario featuring 3 NCA's. Which would be wrong.

I will move my question, howz about that?

I'll leave questions about the ADB products to ADB. I'll note that Module G3A has been out for a while though.

I have a follow-on question though. I thought the MY DD was the DDM, which is the one with only two photons, no drones, etc.

Just wanna know if G3 is complete, or do you need G1 and G2 to use it.

G3 does not require G1 or G2. And when G4 eventually comes out, it will supersede G3.

The DDM is a bit of a retcon. However, both the DDM and DD (no drones, no Ph-3, no APR) are Middle Years ships. Both are available for use in the Middle Years.

Yeah, that's what I get for trying to remember... :? I got confused about which card was the Advanced GW design since there were 4 or so that had that heading included in the pack.

My bad.

Technically, there are three, if you count the M81 Galaxy as separate...

(And 4 if you you consider certain anti-Andro fights as taking place during the business end of Operation Unity.)

Ahem. Sorry.

EDIT: After this week, perhaps make that 5? 6 if you count a certain extra-galactic cluster separately. Heh.

Could we get the DD+? I'd appreciate it.
