Fighter repair

I was wondering about this in relation to stingers (and the hydran/romulan threads that turned up), but in light of the other post about BoM fighters and an upcoming game using the BoM fighter rules that I have penciled in it may be a bit more topical:

A ship can repair a fighter using repair rules (DC).
A fighter occupies a shuttle box.
A ship can must fully repair a box before moving onto another box for repair.
A fighter isn't exactly a 'box'.

Its not clear from the rules but, does this mean that if you have 2 crippled fighters on board that you cannot start repairing a second fighter in one turn unless you fully repair the first fighter you started on. Or can you allocate 2 DC (for example) to one fighter to un-cripple it then spend the points on the other to un-cripple that one? I can see that you do not have to finish repairing a shuttle, but that is a different thing to whether you can split your DC in a single turn.

Personally would suppose that each damage point on a fighter was equivalent to a "Box" -- so believe that you fix however many on each fighter you wanted ---

I'm tending the other way at the moment and seeing it more like drone reload, you must finish reloading a drone rack before starting another one.

In a way I would prefer it was indeed like that as I prefer rules that are nice and consistent, i.e. DC can't be split unless the thing you started on is properly completed.

Based on the wording of (5G6), I have to say that each shuttle repair point is (in effect) an individual box with a repair cost of 1. Particularly the sentence that says, "[e]rase the damage points ... as you repair them."

So, when repairing shuttles, you can repair them in any box order you wish.
