Origins 2011 - Save a Starship

Post by Scoutdad »

Here's my contribution to the Save a Starship effort this year:

Since this combined with my earlier I(SC acquisitions gives me a complete gunline (or 2... well, maybe 3), they will be my next project.

Now that's what you call a powerful old cruiser squadron Scoutdad. :shock:

That echelon is mucked up... there should be more gunline ships than core ships ;)

And I see there's only a token dirty, rotten, low-down, stinkin', cotton-pickin', four-flushing, cold-calling, ambulance-chasing, booger-eating, double-parking, short-changing, methane-breathing HYDRAN! there.

So pretty and shiny! Soooo much better than letting them go to the scrapyard.
Let's get DANGEROUS!

@Semperatis: Yep. I need some for the Federation... then some for the FRA... and a couple to kitbash into variants.

@Terry: That was all they had in the booth. But when combined with the BB / 3xDN / 6xCA / 0xCL / 4xDD / 6xFF I already have, It'll form a pretty good set of gunlines.

@Terry, again: long story...
Jeffr0 was mentioning how his son wants to play the bigger Tholian ships, but he was going to have to wait until he got a NDN (or such). Well, I finally collected enough parts to build a second Archeo-Tholian BB (since I wasn't really happy with the first), so I took the original to Origins nad gave it to Jeff to pass onto his 8 year old son. You have to keep the new generation interested, you know.
John Curtis, a local member of Battlegroup M'Boro-FEAR's son-and token Hydran at Origins 2011 complained that I never gave him a miniature - so I picked up a Ranger and will paint it for him. Too bad it's going to be ink and purple! :shock:

@Darkwing: Much better than the scrap heap. Especially since this may be the last chance to save a starship. Anything Mongoose does in resin that is miscast will probably just be trashed as the resin can not be recycled.

That's assuming folks stop buying the 2400's. SVC said that if people keep buying the 2400's, they'll keep making them and create new ones. Right now I'm VERY happy with the two 2400's I got.

I would hope people don't stop buying them. I have to at the least have one of each, and I still have to get pretty much everything new from FC Battleships onwards haha

Looks like some awesome stuff in there!
