In before Tony talks about how he *doesn't* have a cardboard addiction. Of course, I have little room to talk.

What? I don't have a cardbaord addiction... It's a lead...no, ummm, pewter - wait; that's not right either... it's a resin addition!!!

Tony, I know you think you can learn to live with resin as a part of your life.

Ok so if we ever have to trap Tony we bait the trap with a Mixture of Lead and Pewter mixed with Resin in a small cardboard box, maybe in side a clamshell container. Wonder who else will wander into that trap.

There's someone out there who just picked up a pile of lead (most looked like 2200s, engines knocked off), for $177 or so --
Guess their stocking up for when the 2400 line is discontinued

Suddenly I'm having flashbacks to the Taco Bell / Godzilla commercials with the chihuahua...

I did say before that the 2400s won't be discontinued.
We have the molds and can run more any time we want. Whenever we get low on something, we order a couple of dozen more. So in theory, we'll never run out (although one might assume that some day I will die and the company will have new owners who don't keep my promises, but I suspect that they will).
It's a matter of practicality. If we have it in stock, why would we not sell it? If we sold them and can order new stocks a dozen at a time, why would we not restock them?
That is, of course, mail order. Most wholesalers have not stocked 2400s in years. Alliance has about half of them, and ACD keeps a small stock of very few items. So most retailers have had trouble getting 2400s for some time now.
Now, one thing, there is a thing called GGIC (a master catalog) and we always had 3 pages of stuff listed. We had to pay extra (a lot) for the second and third pages (which were the 2400s) so we quit paying extra but the one page says at the bottom to contact ADB to get 2400s. So if you see a GGIC book and the 2400s are not in it, we just quit paying (too much) for the extra pages when the wholesalers are just not stocking the 2400s very much any more.

(My Friendly Local Game Store could not figure out how to get me a Gorn Fleet Box last Christmas. I thought this was weird. They couldn't get one of my kid-friendly euro game items, either, so I didn't figure it was just ADB material. I like supporting brick and mortar shops, but inability to get stuff I know exists is a bad deal-- even worse than not knowing about my favorite companies or giving mediocre service. I shouldn't be spending money anyway-- if you make it that much harder to close a sale, I am much quicker to remember that fact!)

You need the stock number, which you can get from our cart or by asking or checking the online catalog. That should be all that the store needs to get the box from Alliance. Other wholesalers, not so likely they'd have it in stock or be willing to special order it. Well, Esdevium will order it, but that takes about two months from asking the store to get it and it actually being at the store.
