Paul Franz on the podcast asked about painting the resin minis. From working with Forge World resin minis, my experience is that it's no different to working with metal minis: Wash and rinse to get rid of release agent; air-dry; thin spray undercoat; paint with acrylics as normal; varnish to seal; transfers; more varnish. Anyone have anything to add to that? Anyone disagree?

I've got about 60-odd Firestorm Armada resin ships, and I'd agree with both posts above regarding prepping and painting.

One note I would make is about glueing the models together: Superglue works well with resin but bonds almost instantly, so I'd recommend using the gel formula glue which gives you more time to adjust the position of the parts but is still sticky enough to hold them in place until it hardens. Fills in minor gaps too.

Resin is very porous and as such, it will absorb the superglue quickly. This serves to produce a strong bond that can withstand the occasional drop... but it will set very quickly.

Yes, the above posts are spot on.

Make sure you wash things well, though. Oddly enough, resin releasing agents tend to be more "slippery" than metal ones.

A cheap electric toothbrush seems to work well for this job.
