TLT Shipyards

OK, now that the initial release of Starline 2500's are either out, or imminent - let's have some fun.
I've always wanted to do a Starline 2400 feature called TLT Shipyards.
The idea was to select a single variant every 2 or 3 months and provide detailed instructions on how to kit-bash one. Somehow, I never got around to it, but the 2500's gives me a bigger chance.
Here's the deal:
For the next 3 or 4 days, propose a variant of one of the current Starline 2500 releases that doesn't exist but that you'd like to have.
For example, the CAD which is a drone armed variant of the Federation CA, or the D6M which is a mauler version of the D6.
No Lyran STTs, or Orion Dreadnoughts as the base hull version is not yet available.
In a few days, I'll post a poll with the top 4 or 5 ships and y'all will have a week to vote. At the end of that time, the ship with the most votes will get built and painted. I'll take step by step photos and post them along with step by step descriptions of what was done and why.
then everyone can build their own version of "whatever"

And to kick it off, I'm suggesting a Klingon D6M.
Vulture

The single most important ship in the Rom Fleet lineup for Fed Com is the Vulture. It may, however, be years before the 2500 series sees this ship. I would love something like this done showing a way to convert a WE/KE (or maybe a Condor) into a Vulture.

But the Vulture is not based on one of the hulls currently in production and is excluded from this round. Sorry.

Any War Cruiser Scout. Seems a same to waste the Scout Rules in ACTASF.

Tony,
What I had in mind (and I may just be displaying my naivete wrt: kitbashing) is taking the KE and cutting off the middle of the ship details (bridge, R-torp and fin), then cutting it in half, building up a middle section to expand it, and then detailing by returning the previous details and adding a second R-torp.
Alternatively, cutting the front off the Condor and then making some modifications to add the R-torps and building up a bridge mound.
Are those modifications just way too ambitious for a kit-bash?

That sounds awesome! I was hoping they would do a kinda ship of the month or whatever, where they have variants available, but this works perfectly. Id say D6M as well for a good start.

@Mike: The D7D is in Battleships, so there may be a mini for that.
@Paul: The Vulture is also in Battleships, so there will be a mini for that.
No reason to scratchbuild one in three months when the offical one will be available in 6 months.

I know you said there would be a poll available later, but I'll go ahead and say that the D6M would be my choice as well.

There will be a poll, but we have to have choices first.
Right now, we have:
Klingon D6D
Klingon D6M
and I'm goingto add one more. The Federation CAD USS Agincourt.
I just read the CL44 story "A Call to Arms" and it has the events leading up to the famous conversion.

Of course, for a expensive conversion we could do a TK5.
I wonder if I could get Mongoose to sell me a damaged PC and F5???

I'd like to see the following:
In order of preference for each class:
Klingons:
D6M
D6D (have the 4 addition drone racks on the hull, not the engines as indicated on the SSD)
D6G (I always imagined these to have a different/larger/longer deckhouse to accomodate all the extra shuttles and GAVs)
D6S (with Klingon-ish sensors, not the rehashed Feddie style sensor dishes please)
D6C/L
D6P (updated sensors as requested on the D6S)
D6V (opportunity to update the deckhouse properly instead of adding a box to the top)
D7D
D7W
D7V (opportunity to update the deckhouse properly instead of adding a box to the top)
D5D
D5H
D5G
D5P
DDW
DWG
DWP
F5D
E4D
Federation:
CAD
CAR
DNH

Bolded minis are currently set for ACTA: Battleships, so it's pointless to convert them.
The CAR is the CA included in ACTA, well CAR+ actually.

I would vote for the Fed DNH. I'm intending to do one for myself, regardless, once my Fleet Box shows up (probably in the new year). No need for two DNGs right now, so I might as well upgrade one.
