The poster did not specified but by context I would guess that is in 1:1000 (The mot popular Trek model scale).

I wonder if it would be possible to kitbash something like that in SFB scale. An X Ship maybe.

Like my wife is always telling me -- someone's got way too much time on their hands. :) It's too nice to use in a game.

Yes, despite the fact that no damage is actually caused to the miniatures themselves, I still feel hesitant ordering fire on such beautiful models. I need to think more like a Klingon, I guess ;)

I guess I'm too much of a purist.

There's some interesting ideas on that model, but it doesn't say "Gorn" to me and overall I find it kind of garish. Lots of greeblie detail just for detail's sake.

To each their own though.

I don't mean to dispute the purists, because I totally understand wanting to keep the integrity of the models...

But if the Gorn ships looked like THIS, I'd start collecting Gorn.

Granted it's amazing, and I certainly wouldn't want to see it dinged up. But if I had done up something as beautiful as this, I'd have to take it to a game and show it off.

No need to worry about upsetting the purist. Once you get rid of the "disruptor" cannons you have a lovely start on a CMX or a BCX. I think it was on the Mongoose Site someone pointed a art shot of the USS Australia which has some nice hints at what could be done with a BCX. .Longer neckeith a recessed neck back cut, movethe engines foreward a smidge and thicken the nacelles. Great stuff for once we get the main era done but everry one seems to forgets we have to crawl first.
