Quick question. Where in the rule book does it say that every satelite ship must be accompanied by a mothership. I simply cannot find it in my copy of the reference rulebook.

5V1a:
With few exceptions, satellite ships have little strategic mobility, and must be carried for any significant distance ---

The Python, for instance, is small enough to be carried, but also has a Displacement Device, so can move on it's own ---

You could run into Satellite ships from a destroyed Mothership, but most likely their objective would be to disengage (to meet another Mothership for pick up), which could arrive in the scenario while your trying to run them down --

I think the rule you are looking for is (5V1a). It basically says that the only way for a satellite ship to get anywhere is to be carried by a mothership. The only exception is a satellite ship that has its own displacement device.

For some reason I seem to recall in SFB, that Satellite ships were considered destroyed if Motherships were destroyed or disengaged when the scenario ended ---

But in FC, it says Sat Ships can disengage, so at some point you could see Sat Ships without a mothership then --

Especially if you write your own scenarios :)
