So after going through my bunch of old miniatures whcih I never really did anything with - and found a whole bunch of the old fleet scale miniatures - the 51xx range.
I have some Andromedan, ISC, Hydran, Thloian and Orion minis still in the original packs. Looking to trade them for Kziniti, Fed, Klingon, Lyran, Romulan or Gorn minis of the same scale.

If you've only got single ships left mover from ships you want to trade or sell we can work out a deal. Drop me a line and maybe we can come up with something.

If your going to be at GenCon and you want to trade there I'll be there the whole time (Wed to Sun) - drop me a line.

Thanks in advance from anyone who can help me out.

Here is what I have to trade - the number after them are the amounts in the pack -
5105 - ISC dreadnought (2)
51?? - ISC FF (4) - loose, no package

5122 - Andro Intruder (3)
5118 - Andro Python (3)

5108 - Orion Slaver (3)
5111 - Orion CA (3)
5112 - Orion Raider (4)
5114 - Orion Salvage Cruiser (3)

5120 - Thloian CA (3)
5121 - Tholian DN (3)
5125 - Thloian NCA (3)
5128 - Tholian PC (4)

5109 - Hydran FF (4)
5110 - Hydran CL (3)
5113 - Hydran Paladin (3)
5119 - Hydran Lancer (3)

Federation Starline 2200 Old CL
(yes, I'll trade him for some of the stuff I'm looking for if need be :) )

What i am looking for to fill out some fleets :
51xx - Federation Dreadnought
51xx - FederationDD
51xx - Federation FF

51xx - Klingon Dreadnought
5102 - Klingon D7
51xx - Klingon F5

51xx - Kziniti Dreadnought/SCS
51xx - Kziniti Cruiser
51xx - Kziniti FF

51xx - Romulan Condor
51xx - Romulan War eagle

51xx - Lyran DN
51xx - Lyran CA
51xx - Lyran DD
51xx - Lyran FF

51xx - Gorn DN
51xx - Gorn CA
51xx - Gorn DD

51xx - ISC CA

I don't know the stock codes of what I don't have (go figure) but I'm willing to do what I can to make this easy for anyone who wants to trade or sell the little buggers to me.
Also if you've got others from the Fed/Klingon/Kziniti/Lyran/Romulan/Gorn lines that I didn't list that you are looking to part with - drop me a line - I might be able to use them anyway :D

Thanks !

Not that it matters much for what you're doing, but I'm considering putting those back into production.

I think I saw some of these on eBay this week. If you search under "starfleet battles" or "star fleet battles" they'll show up.

Here's a link to the ones I found: You'll have to scroll down for them

If these do indeed go back into production would they be re-tooled a bit or just use the old molds?

I wouldn't be buying them (so my opinion doesn't count), but the flagship ships (Fed CA and Klingon D-7) were kinda lacking in the looks department. They reflected poorly on the game IMHO (especially on the 2200/2400 minis).

At that scale it's hard to do any detail, but maybe they could be improved a bit in shape/form.

Now I'm torn...

Do I buy more of the Elite scale minis to complete my PF squadrons...
or, do I wait for the new PF minis...
or, do I buy new Elite Scales now and new PF's later?

choices, choices, choices...

It sounds as if all this talk is about the smaller "elite" versions of the miniatures.

I'd be interested in seeing some!

Thanks for the heads up. Sadly those are ones I already have :(

I do periodically look on eBay, I was just hoping somebody here would have stuff I was looking for quicker and easier than that.

Thanks though !

Remember that very few ships were done in this scale, and that I personally fought against doing them, and wasn't impressed by them.

I wouldn't spend much effort. I would just send a set of Reaper and tell them to spin up a mold and see what happens.

It seems like there is a market (however small it may be).

The problem is that it is not zero cost to produce them.

1. Minor amount of my time (an hour or two) to find them. Given that I cannot keep up with requests and orders and schedules, that is not inconsiderable.

2. An hour of warehouse time and $10 to ship them. Not much problem.

3. Reaper. They would want to make a mold for each ship ($50), and that would mean a thousand bucks spent for something that I doubt would produce a thousand bucks of sales. Maybe. If I can get them to just do one mold for all of them (maybe two) then maybe it can work. They said they couldn't discuss this until they saw the ships.

I would think that with Fed Commander out there might be more of a call for them because of a few things.

There were small enough to be used on the small hex boards, they were inexpensive enough to field a fleet easily and they could still be used for playing on the open table with reduced sized turn gauges and what not in limited space.

I would think you could set the packages to encompass entire fleets at a time or booster packs (Here is your base Fed fleet - heres booster #0, here's booster #1, etc) and get folks interested that way.

However, if you have any kicking around the warehouse I am willing to buy them from you, and even pay a minor premium for the privilege. I don't care about the packaging, just the ships and the stands. :)

Out to anyone with some of these things :
The offer has gone beyond trade and into buying - if you just want to unload them, drop me a line. We can work a deal.

I have some in the warehouse.

They are not for sale.

Based on what I saw them selling for on Ebay (over $30 per package of 3 ships, one pack of three went for over $100) I don't think you'd get me to turn loose of my private stash for "a small premium".

But when I get a chance I will send a set to Reaper to make a mold and see what spins. Only real crisis would be if they made a mold and a typical spin had a 90% chance of making a good Fed CA and a 10% chance of making a good Hydran Paladin, or vice versa, since that would make selling them in sets pretty tough.

Can't say as I'd blame you for holding on to them if they were going for that much

Well, thanks for the help, as it were. Perhaps that's where I will 'trade' mine spares for cash and just scratchbuild what else I need :?

It's not that they are "going for that much". It's that I might need them someday (say, to cast new ones, or as evidence in a court case) and if I don't have them, I'd have to buy them on Ebay.

Ah ha...
Well in _that_ case I can't say that I blame you. Time to sit down with my ruler, some plastruct and go from there. (sigh).

I was just hoping to do this th easy way.
