Trying to hunt down empire histories.

Hi all,
Can anyone suggest a good way to find which products contain lore/history for Lyrans and Seltorians?
I've got the module for SFB with Lyrans (C1; C3 for Seltorians) - but is that the sum total of information available on them? If not, how do I find out which products contain more information?
I'm not asking about ship diagrams - just the little lore bits that matter more to RP and Campaigns. I figured that the PD section might be the best section to ask this question in since Role Players would be more likely to know where to find the story. I didn't see anything but Klingon/Fed/Romulan PD stuff, though.
Thanks

We haven't done the PD books for either of those, but there is a lot of their history scattered around in small pieces all over the place. Check History of the General War and the timeline (both are free downloads).

Will do. I was looking through the Captain's Log descriptions last night and saw a few Lyran/Seltorian stories listed, too.

The A Call To Arms Star Fleet books include a small primer for each empire too.

Ahhh... bummer. I'm content with SFB and FC, not quite ready to buy a whole new gaming system just to get some lore snippets

Thanks for the information, though! Perhaps eventually

The snippits are probably pretty similar to those in the FC products (haven't looked), just years newer and slightly tweaked here and there.

They were taken from SFB and F&E.
Captains log (there is an index on the site) has a history of the Kzintis.

I can't find two tidbits about the Lyran Democratic Republic that may have been in a CL, or even Nexus: their military uniform is similar to the Lyran Star Fleet's except for a blood-red stripe running from the collar to hem, to the right of which the shirt is blank. This represents one of the Founding Fathers, who, wounded, tunic destroyed, and side bandaged up, continued to lead the fight. The second bit was that in the early years of the Republic, even the rank insignia on the left side was covered with a cloth; liberty, fraternity, equality was running a bit higher in the fleet than in most militaries, including meetings and votes on how to run the ship. (That this wasn't copied into the C3 R section or CL #44's history has me wondering if it was exaggerated.)

Thanks for that, actually, just yesterday my curiosity got piqued about the LDR. I've never even really considered them before yesterday. Going to go and find out what module they are listed in.
Just a side question for Steve: who's the more popular - Lyrans or Kzinti?
I've enjoyed the aesthetic of catamarans since seeing Water World (don't judge me, lol) back in the 90's for the first time; and the ESG in a certain SFB based video game were awesome; plus I happen to like Lynx/Bobcats - so Lyrans win hands down for me, lol.

The Lyrans have some very avid fans (I know Tony Thomas is very fond of them). Around my game tables, people talked about Lyrans, but I'd only see Kzinti minis actually getting played. YMMV.

The number of people I play with is very small. I'll probably be the only Lyran fan. I'm honestly not even sure how to try and find other players in my region. I asked the game/comic shop I frequent - they said they don't carry any SFU products (although they actually are on the list ADB has); they do have groups for that modern Trek combat game, though (boo).
I was just curious about an over-all

I started out as the sole Kzinti player in our local clique...
Of course, back then the game came in a ziploc baggie and there were no such things as Lyrans.
When the universe expanded to include Lyrans... I played both cats, but once I started painting the Lyran minis - that sealed the deal for me.
I still play Kzinti over almost any other empire... unless the Lyrans are on the table.

I didn't learn the ESG from the guy who introduced me to SFB way back when (1992 !?!). He was mad against it, such that he promised if I ever chose Lyran in a pickup game, he'd fly a Gorn against it.
