UNIDENTIFIED TARGET

I have just started stripping some 2400 miniatures to repaint them, and I have just stripped what I thought was a Klingon F5. However, when I had striped it back to the pewter, I noticed it had engine mounted disruptor blocks, like I would have expected on a F5W, and it had forward projections in the hull/wing area that are what I would have expected on a normal F5. Have I uncovered a strange "Frankenfrigate"?

The modern Starline 2400 F-5 mini has both engine mounted and hull-mounted disruptor mounts included, so it can be used as either a F-5 or the larger types with just a different paint job (or 10 seconds with a file, if folks are so inclined).

The older Starline 2200 (lead) F-5 mini was too small and was re-purposed as the E-4 in Starline 2400 (and does not have the engine-mounted disruptors included).

The dedicated Starline 2400 F5W mini wasn't released until about 10 years later, so the multiple-disruptor location feature was useful for a good long time.
