Dear Prime Directors :-)

I've just bought in to the Fantasy Grounds online RPG framework (see https://www.fantasygrounds.com/home/home.php), which greatly facilitates online playing. I plan to run a PD campaign, ideally with Traveller rules, but am open to going with d20 or Gurps depending on interest.

Cheers,

Gary

Fellow GURPS GM, Warren "Mook" Wilson Mook is the author of "How to Be A GURPS GM". He has a blog that this week discussed trying out Fantasy Grounds using a GURPS 4e rules set. His blog is called Game Geekery. http://www.themook.net/gamegeekery/ The scenario isn't GPD. But you get the idea.

No, I don't understand what you mean.

Can you explain in more detail?

I think what gurps_gm was trying to point out is that Fantasy Grounds can run GURPS 4th Edition, and Warren "Mook" Wilson wrote a blog post showing how he tested that setup in an online game. The example on his Game Geekery blog isn’t a Prime Directive campaign, but it demonstrates how the ruleset works inside Fantasy Grounds.

So the idea is basically: if you’re planning to run a Prime Directive game online, you could look at his write-up as a technical example of how to set up and run GURPS in Fantasy Grounds, then adapt that workflow for your own campaign. It’s more about the platform setup and GM tools than the specific scenario.

If you’re still deciding between Traveller, GURPS, or d20 System, Fantasy Grounds supports all of them pretty well—it mostly comes down to which ruleset your group prefers.
