When I registered I was offered the choice between subsilver and FC_Forum styles. The latter is broken, a quick peek at the inspector shows there is an embedded CSS block at the top of the document for both versions. The FC_Forum version however has all of the color codes and other details stripped out.

The quick fix is to disable the style until the CSS can be patched back to what was expected. I prefer a dark screen style myself, and that's why I investigated the options.

I have referred this to the board Admins. (I am but a moderator.) Unfortunately, they have apparently just contracted COVID, so it might be a bit before either Admin responds.

Whatever is there was probably put there by the company that built the forum 15 years ago, and you're the first and only person to notice. I don't even know what most of what you said means, so I didn't do it and wouldn't have known how to tell anyone else to do it.

That was a style we started working on to customize the look of the forum - then life got involved derailing the project.

Well, if you ever get interested again, a "dark mode" would be pretty trendy.
