I know most of you don't play F&E - but I had to share this one with you.

In our latest campaign, we are combining the standard "General War" scenario with the variant, "Demon of the East Wind" scenario. This combination has the Romulans attacking the Gorn one turn one, while the Lyrans and the Klingons attack the Kzinti on turns 1 and 2, respectively. The Hydrans enter the fracas on turn 3, and the Feds go to limited war on turn 4 and join-in full scale on turn 7. This combination gets everyone playing fairly quickly.

I am he Gorn player and my 17-year old (Plasmaboy) is the Romulan player. Today, we completed Alliance turn 2 and Coalition turn 3. Last months session saw the Gorn capture a Romulan War Eagle. In order to make things really aggravatign for Plasmaboy, I created a WE counter in Gorn colors. His first attack today was 32 Romulan ships on 29 Gorn ships commanded (coincidentally enough) by hte captured War Eagle.

The first round of combat saw a grand total of 1 ship destroyed - a Romulan Sparrow Hawk Mauler (SPF), which he Gorn's promptly captured. 8)

The second round of combat saw a grand total of one ship destoryed - a Romulan leased K5L (K5R) - which the Gorn promptly captured!

After that, Mark was so flustered, he simply retreated from what was no overwhelming odds and gave up the initiative. Unfortunately, turn Alliance-3 will simply be the Gorns gathering all their forces in the capital to stave of the inevitable capital assault - but oh how glorious it'll be to send a squadron of 3! Romlulan ships out to neet the incoming wave.

It's amazing he keeps playing after having so many of his own EP's turned back against him ;)

He sees the wall of rd counters moving towards the Gorn capital and knows that it's only a temporary set-back.

Although, the other players are discussing he Gorn's lever production strategy. It's much cheaper to capture and convert ships than it is to build them from scratch. 8)

It also bumps up your production cylce by a factor of two spaces in percentages. :D

A Gorn-Romulan fight, eh?

Oh, I'd like to send a fleet or five from your peace-keeping friends in the Concordium over to sort out the little squabble of yours!

*Is hoping ISC War is published soon*

Hey Gary, the sentiment is appreciated, but probably not necessary In another turn or two... all of the Romulan ships will be out of Gorn space!

Or they will be repainted in Gorn fleet grey!!! 8)
