Fed New Scout Cruiser

So, I have a kitbashed NCL mini that I'm turning into a Fed new Scout Cruiser, and I'm wondering if the weapons compliment is the same as the NCL minus the torps to make room for the special sensors.
I would assume so, since this is how the original Scout and Destroyer are related.
If it's not ok to post it here, a PM always works for me.
Thanks.

Nah, it's cool.
The NSC trades all four photons for four special sensors.
The SC trades all four photons PLUS the four LS/RS Ph-1s for eight(!) special sensors.

Is the SC the same as the GSC?
That's a TON of special sensors!

The SC is even better than the GSC (if you're just counting special sensors). The Fed SC is the best in the game and would be even better if it had enough power to *really* take advantage of all those sensors.

The GSC is the Galactic Survey Cruiser. It is cruiser sized and has four special sensors. However, these don't "replace" anything. The whole ship is redesigned for its survey role.
The best scout ship is actually the one based on the Fed NCA. It uses the sensor replacement of the SC (all four photons + four Ph-1s) and has the full power of an NCA to use them. (I forget its abbreviation.)
But, yes, they did "cheap out" with the NSC.

Oh wow, I feel slow. The SC is of course our old favorite the Franz Josef Scout! Based on the destroyer. For whatever reason, I had the phrase "Scout Cruiser" going through my head.

Mike, would be speaking of the NHS - the Federation New Heavy Scout? 8 Special Sensors and 38+2 points of power!
A totally wicked ship... even if it does cost 167 BPV to use in battle!

As an adamantly anti-EW guy, eight special sensors makes me shudder.

Then don't think about it while you're painting... That would be bad!

Anti-EW??? Heresy!!
It's the first thing I taught my son about SFB... you live or die by your EW

Oh, no doubt. It's why I was so happy it was kept in SFB (where it belongs) and out of FedCom (where it doesn't). Each game to it's chosen crowd.

Plasmaboy (my son, Mark - who's now 18 and headed off to college soon!) perfected his mathematical skills by calculating the ECM/ECCM in various fleet battles and then applying the appropriate artificial and natural modifiers.
When you're 12 and can track mid-turn speed changes, deceleration due to damage, and calculate to-hit modifiers in a rapidly changing, multi-ship environment - calculus and trigonometry become easy.
"No Child Left Behind" should include a copy of SFB for every child in danger of being left behind!!!
