Starline 2500

Our joint venture with Mongoose includes an entirely new range of model starships to be called Starline 2500. These will be more detailed than the 2400s, cast in resin, and will use a larger 1-3125 scale. At least, that's the plan as of August 2011. When the ships are released in November 2011, things might or might not be different. We will post new information as we get it., and there are lively discussions on our BBS about such issues. Mongoose reads your posts and is influenced by them! The plan envisions selling these ships in squadron boxes that are identical (in the ships included) to the 2400-series Starline boxes sold for Federation Commander. The 2400s will remain in production as long as anyone buys them (meaning, for the foreseeable future and maybe forever).

FEDERATION SHIPS Painting inside the lines. The new 2500-series Federation ships have strong inscribed lines to simulate the traditional hull plating welds. Some like this, while others do not. Fortunately, the models have been done in a way that you can make of them whatever YOU want the most! If you want the lines to be prominent, you can use any of several painting techniques to make them highly visible. If you want the lines to be more subtle, then simply don't worry about them and ignore them when painting the ship's base color. As these side-by-side photos show, you can get out of them whatever you want!
