Star Fleet Universe Discussion Board: Star Fleet Battles: After Action Reports (Finished Products): Module G3 Master Annexes: Archive through February 01, 2009
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 04:42 pm: Edit

To be clear (since nobody is grokking this)....

1. There is not enough room in G3 to add Megafighters and footnote fighters to the MFC unless we move Annex 5 to G3A.

2. If we do not move Annex 5 to G3A, then G3 will have a MFC and G3A will have either a chart with only megafighters and footnote fighters, or it will have an MFC that duplicates the MFC in G3 but adds the Megafighters and Footnote fighters.

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 04:46 pm: Edit

Either G3 or G3A should have a complete list of fighters. I think option 1 would be the best idea.

By Tos Crawford (Tos) on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 04:47 pm: Edit

Option 1 please.

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 05:43 pm: Edit

For something like Annex 5 could there be some type of wiki that people could add to?

By Loren Knight (Loren) on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 06:32 pm: Edit

Option 1.

Ken, I think that would be a real problem because no one would know what is "ADB Official" and what is not. Annex 5 is about abreviations used in the rules, not those used in public.

By A. David Merritt (Adm) on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 07:18 pm: Edit

Option 1, Please.

I would like to take the time to thank you for both working on projects like this, and for working with the SFB community on these projects.

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 - 01:46 pm: Edit

Loren if there was a place for a reference it would be easy enough to check.

Note that the heavy carriers pods for the Klingon and Kzinti are listed as being triple weight when a pair are attached to a tug...

By Alan Trevor (Thyrm) on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 - 12:14 pm: Edit

SPP,

I think there's a typo in your 06:45 pm post from yesterday. You say

Quote:

Tholian Packs: All Tholian Packs have a towing cost of 0.6667.

and I'm pretty sure you meant 0.1667.

By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Friday, January 02, 2009 - 10:26 am: Edit

Alan Trevor:

That has been fixed. Thanks.

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 09:40 pm: Edit

Federation YCA - Docking points should be 8 and not 1 as listed. Both the PDF and Y1 have the error. - Ken Kazinski, 11 Jan 09.

Federation Early Years Separated Saucers - The rule number entry is missing from all the entries. To follow the form of other separated saucers the rule number of the complete unit should be displayed. - Ken Kazinski, 11 Jan 09.

Federation Early Fleet Tug YTG (YR2.9) - The docking points should be 7+4 and not 7-11 to follow the form of other Federation Tug listings. - Ken Kazinski, 11 Jan 09.

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 10:17 pm: Edit

Federation Early Fleet Tug YTG Scr (YR2.9) The Docking Points are listed as 4+8 for the separated saucer while the YTG is listed as 7-11. Shouldn't this be 5/6 + 4. - Ken Kazinski, 11 Jan 09

SVC's response to the first few pages of notes Petrick gave me of what people supposedly want.

Clarify if PUR vessels are under additional restrictions: I told him to make the KRM PUR+LPW but he's not grasping the point.

YIS dates vs Campaign players negotiating their own dates: I'm going to list what data I have and you can STILL negotiate your own dates.

Something in the notes column of every carrier about its fighter group: Not practical.

Listing refits on the MSC in any of the 37 proposed formats: none of them are practical.

Navigating the MSC visually: You must be blind. Every black bar has the empire name in it at the left (bottom of page) end. No need for us to do anything.

Sprinkling in art: Not really practical as the blank spots are in "word" pages that are too hard to add art to.

Replacing ANNEXE header with something more descriptive. Not practical or necessary.

Pod Weight notations: Proved impractical to add to the MSC. A document listing these took three pages and will probably land in G3A.

Gary Bear claims I said we would include a complete refit table. I doubt I said that (maybe I was joking?) but it's ridiculously impractical and would push the book to 700 pages.

Another Gary Bear request for us to remove all "design available but unbuilt" data and let him browbeat his opponents into his point of view. Denied.

Landing ability note: Petrick will look into this but it seems unnecessary as there is an annex.

Another note about PUR ships duplicating previous requests. Guys, just ask ONCE ok?

Yet another pod weight thing. Guys, just ask ONCE ok?

General early base station: I have no idea what this is about and handed it back to Petrick.

Fast Monitor listed as IMPossible. Ok, whatever.

Monitor BPV Confusion: Handed this one back to Petrick.

General note on fighter holding units availability: Handed this one back to Petrick.

A lot of notes about individual line items: Not listed separately by me here.

That's more than enough for tonight.

There is no after action topic for G2, nor will there by an updated/corrected version of G2. We will do G3 at some point between Dec 05 and Dec 06. We'll just see...
1. how many things need fixing
2. how many worthwhile things need adding
3. how many new products we do
4. how much time there is available to do it vs the initial sales of G2.

Here is a list of things I want to do in G3.

1. Include megafighters on the master fighter chart.

2. Include a complete refit table.

By George Duffy (Sentinal) on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 03:28 pm: Edit

So how is G3 coming along anyways?

Will it still meet the Jan. 26 release date?

How about a pending release date for G3A?

(Sorry for asking the obvious; with two weeks to go, it's like the "Kid in a candy store" syndrome here :))

B^)

You mean the one that keeps getting his hand smacked.

Preeeecisly :) (*smack*)

Can the MSC list add the shock value for each shock unit in the notes section?

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - 09:02 pm: Edit

When can G3 be ordered?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - 09:13 pm: Edit

Not yet. It is going to be delayed by the move (along with a bunch of other products) but I don't know HOW LONG (two weeks, three weeks, four weeks) that will be. There are several issues involved, including a week that Petrick and I will have to spend out of town on a secret mission.

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - 09:15 pm: Edit

Is the secret mission the one when you come and visit me in Iraq?

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - 11:51 pm: Edit

I suspect that the mission is a trip to Red Springs.

By Loren Knight (Loren) on Sunday, February 01, 2009 - 12:26 pm: Edit

Please add (E20.0) Transporter Artillery to Annex #1.

By Ken Kazinski (Kjkazinski) on Sunday, February 01, 2009 - 05:54 pm: Edit

Romulan Warbird Cruiser WB (YR4.3D) The note "same as R4.2" should be removed. The early years warbird's SSD is different from the SSD in the basic set. - Ken Kazinski, 1 Feb 09.

I believe that all the units that transistion from early year versions need to be re-looked at. The rules and SSD's need to state which SSD and rule is correct and which has been superceded.
