David,
Bring up a Terminal window and type:
java -version
By David Cheng (Davec) on Thursday, February 04, 2010 - 10:00 pm: Edit |
The answer:

Still having issues with windows disappearing.

I've deleted the client application and re-installed from a fresh 4.0.69 download. This seems to be working now.
Somewhat annoying that all my custom settings are lost, but I guess that's a small price to pay to get things up and running.

I offloaded drones from my sp into storage, but then later 'seemed' to lose them after a save. I only say 'seemed' because I'm not 100% sure when was the first time the drones didn't show up in the storage window. We had to save the game on two occasions. Any ideas what happened?

PAUL, I removed a pice by mistake, but when I tried get it back on map by seletcting the off board option it was not just there. Is it that there is no off board pool for the function to check if activated?

Weird, when I try a add a replacement I can't give it the same name as the previous because "a piece with that name allready exist". But I can't find it!

NVM, "discard" is not the same as "off board":P

Paul, need a simple way to bring back discarded units when not using game control, or is there one all ready?
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Saturday, February 27, 2010 - 11:07 pm: Edit |
There is not one available.
I could add an icon in the toolbar. I would probably replace the "Rotate Stack" icon. Because I don't want the toolbar to get too wide.
Actually, at some point I really need to add an option that would allow people to define what they have in the toolbar.

I rarely need to bring back something from off map (like reinforcements) but I discard the wrong counter quite often...

I can't seem to update my SSD Library. I think it's due to being on a Demo account for now (and if it is, tell me and it's cool :D), but I've been told otherwise. Each time I try to get the update list, I get the message "problem getting update list from server" and a block of info on the details.
I can post the full version of that block here, but it seems to be saying something about a 500 code being returned (don't know what that actually means)

Paul;
Currently playing a Kzinti fleet with a BC, 3*CL's, SDF and a DD.
I entered my drones in the racks and loaded up the storage with the reload drones, then saved.
Thing is, my storage is now showing no drones in the storage.
Some thing is not working out quite right.
I know I did this twice because I thought I may have forgotten the 1st time but I know I did load up the storage area properly.
Thanks for looking into this.
Cheers
Frank

Paul:
Log is inconsistent in the Key column:
Usual log Key is something like:
1.2.6B08.05
However, these ones are inconsistent:
Key: 1.15 (note no step info)
Event: changes speed to xx
Key: 1.32.6D1.02 (note 6B08.05 vs 6D1.02)
Event: fires ...
Key: 1.32 (EAF is finished, program should know
it is T2)
Event: initial speed xx
Key: 6A4.02 (note no turn or impluse #s)
Event: Allocation of damage for:
Sometimes damage taken during movement shows up with a blank key even though the damage occured on a later impulse than the last log entry.
And last, when my opponent and I fired simultaneously, the log showed his allocated fire, then my allocated fire, then the damage I took, but didn't log the damage he took.

Jacob,
Demo accounts do not have access to the library.
Frank,
Can you send me a saved game? Also, can you detail how you are filling the storage? I just tried it and I was unable to duplicate the problem.
Jon,
I will look into it.

Paul, did something change in the client with regards to Speed changes on batteries.
I went to increase my speed in mid turn on reserve power and stay at the higher speed till the end of the turn. This gained me two hexes of movement for a move cost one ship, which should have cost me two points of power.
The client tried to charge me four points of power.
Now, I know that if I had tried to increase speed for a short period of time, say 8 impulses near the beginning of the turn, I would get charged double the cost of the increase.
But the rule is no more than if the increased speed continued till the end of the turn.

Barry,
1) Do you know what the initial speed plot was and what the new one was?
2) If you don't remember 1) then, do you have the game saved? Since, I save the initial speed plot and ending speed plot in the EA, I should be able to figure it out from there.

Ever since getting the latest update, I can no longer look at the Board tab. At least 2 others online right now are experiencing the same bug, and I can confirm that it began the second I finished downloading the update (it was working before I updated)

check your java versions.
By Jacob Karpel (Psybomb) on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 - 09:00 pm: Edit |
Done and confirmed via the java.com verification page, game boards are still not showing up.
EDIT: checked for and downloaded the new patches... and now I can't even enter the rooms to watch matches. Others seem to be able to, not sure what's going on.
EDIT 2: Problem seems to have resolved itself, I'm in full working order. Thank you for the very quick response time to fix the bugs

Grab the latest update. I called an API that is only available via Java 1.6 and most people are running Java 1.5. This is fixed in the latest update. Sorry for the screw up.

Paul;
Just downloaded the latest update.
Seems all my ships have now increased in size !
I loaded up a saved game and the pieces no longer fit inside a hex.
In fact, the pieces are HUGE !
Changing Cell size does not help.
Just a heads up.
Cheers
