I was looking through my SSDs for inspiration for the Farthest Stars, and I noticed that all the DD leaders in the Hydran fleet are mixed aramament - specifically the Count (CNT, R9.63), the Earl (ERL, R9.64) and the Warrior (WAR, R9.48).

(I also noticed the same thing with the DW and NCA classes, mixed weapons on the Leader versions.)

However, I noticed that the Hydran frigates do get a pure Fusion leader in the Saracen (SAR, R9.44), as do the Heavy Cruisers (Lord Commander, LC, R9.40).

Thus, I would like to start discussion about what a pure Fusion/Fighter leader version of the Hydran DD and DW classes would look like, and why they would be built.

Oh, and before anyone asks - there are no pure HB leaders for the Hydrans, as much as I would love to see them. I think those are DOA.

Well, perhaps just take whichever of those two have more fighters and convert the hellbore to a fusion beam. Seems simple enough.
