Unless there is a warp point thingy he used.

Sorry was late, your right.

Help?
I am trying to get my bases renumbered to the KT_B1 and KT_B2 but it isn't set up that way. How would I fix that?
Also I have sent you an email Glenn and one to you Ken last month.

Thanks,
Jim

James, where should your bases be?

And the spreadsheet will need to be updated to show base fleets. Manually edit the text file before emailing it.

I've not heard from Sumo yet.

turn 5 set....BLAAAAHAHAHAHA
time for some romulan ale...YUMYUMYUMYUMYUM

By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Friday, August 27, 2010 - 01:16 pm: Edit

Just waiting for James to tell me where his bases should go (they can't go in OZ_25, he's nowhere near there) and his orders.

By James Bunker (Valonqar) on Saturday, August 28, 2010 - 03:43 pm: Edit

Turn 5 sent, Base is Located in OZ_023 with KT_01 having built it.

I don't have an official alliance with my cousins to the south but if I am going up against Tugger/Krellex I will need more resources or solid allies.

The Kith declare war on the Bad-Fed.

May the children of the stars sing of your glorious passing,

GF_03 stopped in OZ_47, it did not use the pushstar.

By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 02:41 pm: Edit

Fred, the order I have is this:

GF_3, 5 Hulls, 700 BPV»♦, in Zone OZ_028P: M to via OZ_047,

While it did not specify what zone it went to in that order, it did specify that you went THROUGH OZ_047 using the movement from the Pushstar, which means you HAD to have gone two zones.

Realistically, that order should have been converted to an Occupy order, because it's a move without a destination specified.

As it was, I thought you were playing opportunist against HyPe.

Now, you can get much the same effect you want by fighting a non-engaging battle against Benoit's tiny tiny fleet until you can disengage, at which point you'll retreat back to the zone you transited through.

Assuming, after seeing his fleet, you don't decide to just obliterate it, get the extra victory point for destroying a fleet, AND be in a position to occupy the resource center....

The order stands as given on the map.

This wasn't me messing up reading an order, this was an order that was malformed.

Future malformed orders will be treated as Occupation orders from here on out...so, MAKE SURE the order sheet is doing what you want it to before sending them in.

Gotcha, Ken. I will be more thorough in the future.

I'm still looking forward to the battle report of HP_03 forcing GF_3 to disengage. :)

Hydrans are SCARY!!

By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 04:03 pm: Edit

Also, since apparently it isn't clear on the map:

HP_04 is moving to OZ_040. It cannot 'abort' its movement and reinforce the base in OZ_041 under attach by RT_04.

HP_01 is supporting HP_04 into OZ_040. It cannot abort its action to attack RT_04 as it moves through that zone to reach OZ_041.

So, after movement, what will happen is that HP_04 will be in OZ_040, HP_01 will be in OZ_052, and there will be a battle between RT_04 and HP_B2 in OZ_041.

Had HP_01 attached RT_04, or even done an Occupy order, the rules for 'pass through' battles would have been in effect.

So, the sneaky RomuloThols got a base assault fleet into position while the HyPe Machine was doing joint fleet exercises...and may have trouble getting that fleet back home. :)

I loves me some carnaging. :)

And so, the backstabbing begins. :-)

By Benoit Rheaume (Bneus) on Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 06:09 pm: Edit

The Hydrans are scary??? ,Romolians have 4 RC, I have 3???
We are a great ally, and a really bad enemy :)

HP_03 is a pelladine fleet, it is on a diplomatic mission to alde....euh OZ_048

OUR arrangement stands strong , fear us !

As for that new BATS filled with science personnel and civilians it will fight to the death vs that huge Romulan fleet! (meaning it will SD as soon as you warp in the zone)

Every turn you learn something, it is possible to jump over an enemy fleet if your using a pushstar.

As mentioned, if your fleet had been doing an Occupy order, he would not have been able to jump over your fleet to the base.

By Benoit Rheaume (Bneus) on Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 06:52 pm: Edit

Idk doing a support order meant you stopped defending your own zone, but its all good I'm in agreement towards the Moderators ruling.

By James Bunker (Valonqar) on Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 06:57 pm: Edit

So you can occupy during a move action?

By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 07:09 pm: Edit

No, James.

The fleet Benoit was expecting to block Ken's move on the base was issued a Support order that supported a fleet in another zone.

Had that fleet been issued an Occupy order instead, it would not have moved and would have been able to intercept Ken's fleet en route to the nice tasty BATS.

Had that fleet been ordered to Move into the zone where Ken's fleet started, it would have been able to intercept Ken's fleet.

Had that fleet been ordered to Support the BATS, rather than support the other HyPe fleet, it would have shown up as reinforcements at the BATS.

Only by issuing that fleet a Move or a Support order that was not targeted on either the zone where Ken's fleet was going, or the zone where Ken's fleet started the turn, could that fleet have NOT been in the way of Ken's juggernaut of plasma-ey doom.

Hydrans ARE scarey.... however Romulans and Tholians are both sneaky ;)

By Benoit Rheaume (Bneus) on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 12:56 am: Edit

Well Hydrans have lost a BATS and a POL fleet this turn so, im not that scary.

By Robert Grey (Tugger) on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 01:58 pm: Edit

Val, when is a good time for you to beat up my fleet?

Tugger

By James Bunker (Valonqar) on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 06:40 pm: Edit

I was trying to get to the OZ_006 battle vs Sumo first and he is out till Wednesday. It looks like I have all weekend Fri-Sun open though. I will wait till I hear from him on Wednesday and then we can move to set a date.
I have the larger force it seems but don't know what I am up against yet. Would hate to see you pull off a upset an ruin the moral of my troops in my battle with Sumo. We don't use the Romulan ale for liquid courage as they do.

By Robert Grey (Tugger) on Wednesday, September 01, 2010 - 01:39 pm: Edit

Okay, let me know. I should have some time this weekend to play.
Dont sweat too much about my fleet, its my least favorite one, and I dont think I would make another like it...but expect to pay in BLOOD for the honor of freeing up my build points.
