Shawn Hantke's Table of Contents Project:

I have created these documents for use by the dedicated fans of the Star Fleet Universe. Uploaded by Joel Shutts, and graciously hosted on the SFU website by Steve Cole, they are available freely as PDFs here http://www.starfleetgames.com/playerresources.shtml listed under "Table of Contents Documents." I use them as section dividers in my rulebooks; they are a great reference for finding things fast. If you have any questions, comments, suggests, or have found a typo please use this topic to inform me and I will try to address them. This is a work in progress and I hope to add many more covering products I haven’t done yet and update them as the SFU grows.

Thanks, Shawn

Great job, Shawn! The double column is a big improvement.

In a somewhat related note, I use handwritten TOC for my three master SSD books. When a new product is released I just add new entries with a pen. These are nice, though, I may just upgrade to these dividers.

I would recommend using (LMC) in place of (C5) to refer to Lesser Magellanic Cloud scenarios, (M33) rather than (E2) when referring to the Triangulum Galaxy, and (EY) rather than (Y1) to refer to the Early Years; in each case, in order to highlight the setting itself, rather than the module which currently supports it.

In principle, you could also use (M81) to refer to any scenarios involving home galaxy units that are shown operating either in M81 proper, or in its environs; scenarios SL280.0 VANISHED INTO THE VOID and SL288.0 FIRE IN THE DEEP both involve Seltorian task forces doing battle in the depths of inter-galactic space, far from their respective target galaxies.

In terms of rulebook updates, the 2011 revision to the SFB Omega Master Rulebook has added additional scenarios from Captain's Log through SL292.0 FIRST BATTLE OF AURORA.

Module C5 is due an update in the not too distant future, but I don't know if any new scenarios would be added to it (or perhaps kept in reserve for a future LMC file); while Module E2 hasn't been updated as of yet.

Submitted the following new ToCs: SFB TOC EB0.0 Borak Direct-Fire Weapons, SFB TOC JB0.0 Borak Fighter Rules, SFB TOC RB0.0 Borak, SFB TOC Module E3 Borak Rulebook, SFB TOC Module E3 Borak SSD Book, SFB TOC R107.0 Nicozians, and SFB TOC Module R107 Nicozian Concordance. These are the correct new format. I see the last few ToCs that I updated are wrong. For some dumb reason the pdf converter I was using moved the bottom line below the footer.

Fixed and resubmitted R6.0 Gorn and R11.0 Lyran.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Monday, February 20, 2012 - 04:04 pm: Edit

The Nicozian link is fixed, the updated SL0.0 is posted as are the fixed R6.0 Gorn and R11.0 Lyran that is what the new format was supposed to look like. I will try and update as many of the others as I can as time permits, probably starting from the top of the page.

By Gary Carney (Nerroth) on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 - 12:22 am: Edit

I should note that some of the rule numbers have been updated in the most recent edition of the FC Omega Playtest Rulebook; if you have an older version from e23, you should be able to get the updated edition as a free download.

(For example, the various types of Omega phasers have been grouped under a common heading; wide-angle phasers are now 4OAW rather than 4OC, and so forth. The Omega system and empire sections have been re-organized, too.)

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 - 03:15 am: Edit

I think I have all the versions. I will double check them when I get that far, thanks for the heads up.

Submitted revised ToCs for C0.0, D0.0, E0.0, FD0.0, G0.0, and M0.0. I updated these to the new standard and added information from E3 and R107. I submitted a different ACTA:SF (I had left the SFB divider information on it.)

This whole project is amazing. Incedible work Shawn. Thanks so much!

Are there plans to do ToC of the SSD books?

Thanks again for doing some challenging work.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Thursday, February 23, 2012 - 07:47 pm: Edit

@Loren, you are welcome.

@Chuck, so far the only SSD book I have done is for Module E3. The other E Modules aren't separate so I did do the SSD sections of those. The CDH, C3A, P1-P6, E4, R107, have their SSD sections included as do the Captain's Logs I have done. So yes but I don't have them done yet.

I got an email from someone wanting a listing of the Annexes in each module, here is my answer: As I have been doing the Captain's Logs I add the SSD section to a ToC that will list every SSD from every Captain's Log (similar to the SL0.0 ToC that lists all the Captain's Log scenarios). The problem is I have only got to issue #12 so I have not submitted that ToC. When I do the Module Rulebook ToCs I could do the same and compile the Annexes into a big list that has them all on one ToC. So it can be done, but is a matter of when will it be done.

For an update after the current one, I have the ToCs pretty much the way I want them to look now and still want to add the various charts to the relevant sections.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Thursday, March 29, 2012 - 02:42 pm: Edit

The following were submitted and posted with updates and copyright information added. ACTASF, 8O Omega Scenarios, D0.0 Combat, E0.0 Direct Fire weapons, EB0.0 Borak Direct Fire weapons, FD0.0 Drones, G0.0 Ship systems, JB0.0 Borak Fighters, M0.0 Mines, Mod E3 Borak Rules, Mod R107 Nicozians, R0.0 All Empires, R6.0 Gorn, R11.0 Lyran, RB0.0 Borak.

The ToCs probably should have had copyright information on them all along and I will be working to get that changed as quickly as possible. The oversight was entirely mine.

The Starmada/ Star Fleet Armada section was revised to reflect the changes that the Nova edition of Starmada will bring, new updated ToCs will be there soon.

Really not sure where to put this.

I have 2 rules labeled (Z14.0).

Scenario Book 1, with a copyright date of 1992 and Captain's Module R1 with a copyright date of 1992.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Monday, May 29, 2017 - 11:18 am: Edit

These haven't been updated in forever or finished all the ones I wanted to do, my "ADB time" has been spent coloring SSDs.

By Russ Simkins (Madcowak) on Monday, May 29, 2017 - 07:57 pm: Edit

For what it's worth, I for one am grateful for the colorized SSD's though I'm starting to fall behind in acquiring them. Got to figure out which ones I have already and catch up again. I used to keep a spreadsheet with details of what/when/rev of products purchased/updated and the copyright dates (I swear I've bought the whole SFB game 5 times over between updates and forgetting the previous two times I bought a paper product). With the colorized SSDs, at least I know I'm working with a recent revision. Thank you for your efforts Shawn.

I have been trying to acquire or come up with some better word doc templates for these. I did some work on a possible template this weekend.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 - 01:23 pm: Edit

I know about the rule template here- SFB Rules Templates (RTF version) and the scenario template here-http://www.starfleetgames.com/input-guide/index.shtml anything else I have missed?

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Sunday, June 25, 2017 - 12:46 pm: Edit

I worked on templates some this weekend.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 - 11:30 am: Edit

I submitted six templates today for approval. Fingers crossed they get approved and posted to the website. If the templates past muster I will start working on this again. First I'll convert the old ones to the new format and then start updating them and working on new ones.
