Ken: Hence my caveat "(except hydrans)". I concur that Hydran's are exempt from this and must keep historical loadouts.
The 33% rule doesn't seem to match up with standard racial assault fighter deployment outside Hydrans.
By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Monday, January 31, 2011 - 07:15 pm: Edit |
Most races don't get assault fighters on anything but a CVA either. Tholians are the major exception to that.
By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Monday, January 31, 2011 - 11:47 pm: Edit |
Really? I was unaware of that. I swear I seen Rom F torp fighters on their BCV and other CA type 12 fighter CV.
In that case, I withdraw proposal one (since it seems standard, I thought the peladine were just getting screwed).
I still want to know if we all agree J10.111 is currently legal given no rule appears to ban it. If I can't take assault fights !@#$%^ heavy fighters it is :P

I am dead against anything that makes the already over powered fighters any more powerful than they are

sorry for the double post.. weird net error here...
Actually, I dont see any problem with heavy fighters as only a few ships can carry them, and those are big expensive cva's etc

Peter, let's give everyone a few days to see if they can find something that prohibits J10.111. If there isn't anything to be found, it's in force.
By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Tuesday, February 01, 2011 - 02:53 am: Edit |
After a long discussion with Jim Bunker and others, the following changes are being made.
1) G10.0 will remain illegal.
2) The increased WC limits (3 primary, 2 secondary) remain in place
A vote is in place: Move the Snare YIS back to Y181, OR treat all web generators as ph-3s.
(Jim has said snares would be his choice in TAoC, unless talked out of it)

Wait.. I'm a little confused here.. is this rule saying that any ship can carry heavies and just needs 2 adjacent fighter boxes ??
If so then that is just wrong... I dont want to fight rangers and casuals with super stingers.
Ken

Ken Apel:
I believe (at work, not in front of me) J10.111 only applies to true carriers (not hybrids) and only in full squadron increments so no worries on casuals and Hydran hybrids (I will double check later tonight). I also know that Fed F-111's (or whatever their fake PF is) are exempt from that rule. That being said I also (as I stated earlier) recall some serious contention about this on the BBS and I thought the rule was clarified beyond J2/MRB either on the BBS or in a CL. Regardless my question was does anything, as it stands, PROHIBIT J10.111 in DBoM? If not then I will vote against any proposal to prohibit it. Really what is selfishly driving this is I want Peladine plasma fighters on something smaller than a CVA (namely the BCV) and if that means the only way I can get them is heavy fighters then so be it
Ken B:
I vote FOR Y181 snares.
I REFRAIN from voting on the ship YIS proposal. I am good with whatever the majority decides.

Ken Apel:
Ja couple restraints on J10.111 to make you at ease -
1: Does not apply to A-20's or F-111
2: SC4 carriers cannot use unless they can operate a full squadron of 6 (i.e. not that many SC4 12 1 space fighter ships) [HDW exception]
3: Other than Star/Stellar bases nothing can operate more than one squadron of six on a single ship.
That being said I don't see anything that would restrain casual SC3 carriers. If J10.111 is a game breaker though I will give you my word I won't use Super Stingers in a casual format or even Super Stingers at all (outside a base). I really only want the Peladine Plasma ones on my future BCV

Ken, whats the word on the fixed spreadsheet?

Whoops. It slipped my mind - I'll tackle it tomorrow after work.

Groovy. Thanks Ken!

Let's get moving on this . I can see waiting for battles to finish but we look to be waiting for no reason.
By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Saturday, February 05, 2011 - 03:04 pm: Edit |
Ken:
Let's just take a vote on here and keep moving, going to be hard to get all folk on at the same time with time zones. (for example I can only do late night US night during the week).
If you are militant about doing the vote online then I propose:
Sunday, Feb 12th at 9am Hawaiian time (i think that 11 west coast, 3 east coast).
Once that's done, orders due 16th (we have all had time to prepare) and you put out the new battles the 19th.
Slow for no reason is a campaign killer and I'm starting to fret about this campaign. You're the GM, get this moving.

I'm all for voting here, its more convenient for me anyways
By Ken Burnside (Ken_Burnside) on Sunday, February 06, 2011 - 11:06 am: Edit |
Or email me your votes.
What I want to avoid is having people change their votes based on what earlier voters post. That rewards "first past the post" problems.
By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Sunday, February 06, 2011 - 03:09 pm: Edit |
I read back and these are the proposals. Votes due 11th, orders due 16th, Battles posted 19th (can you do that Ken B.?). Email Ken B. your votes:
1: Increase YIS by one year. (I assume that means top end only, not lower end also)
2: Increase fleet caps by 50 BPV.
3: Use TAOC ship buy system. (I have no idea what that is)
4: Either move the Snare YIS back to Y181, OR treat all web generators as ph-3s.
Make your votes easy on Ken:
Subject: DBOM T6 Vote
1: Yes/No
2: Yes/No
3: Yes/No
4: YIS/PH3
