Here is something strange:
I'm playing a regular (i.e. non tournament) game online. I have shot up one of my opponent's ships a bunch (a Fed DD+). All the damage on his SSD is there, but the red boxes are offset from the SSD by about 3 boxes width. So I can't really tell what is actually damaged (i.e. it looks as if the damage was marked with red boxes on a transparent layer on top of the SSD, and then the transparent layer was shifted to the left, like, half an inch). It is weird. And disorienting.
I have tried reloading the game, and it is still like that.

Sounds like you need to update your library, then restart the client.

I'll try that then. Thanks!

What do you know. That worked! Thanks!

I tried to log in and found that my mouse left click button would not do anything. I could use the tab and enter keys to get in, otherwise it would not work. (The mouse works everywhere else) I uninstalled and reinstalled, and it wouldn't even let me click on the options to get it installed again. Finally it started working again. I'm wondering if it was scared that I'm back in action and intend to conquer the galaxy for the Federation. Any thoughts?

Problem with the mouse driver or the mouse itself is possible. (Time will tell on that).
Possible issue with the version of Java that you are running vs. the OS.
Was the disk spinning while this was happening? Wondering if Java was not completely started up.
Overall, I am guessing since I have never seen it before.

Paul, not sure what it is but for some reason the logged on space on the left of the screen with the players callsigns is half chopped off. In addition, it seems as if the tab from the window is underneath the window behind it and I can't drag it out. I have a MAC and the only way I can move the window is to grab the top of the window or use the small tab at the bottom right to elongate the window. However it doesn't shift the actual content of the what's in the window itself.(sorry, it a confusing problem) Also, the words at the top right that say "syncronize upon entering game room" are almost cut off and I can't drag that portion down at all. I deleted all the SFB stuff on my computer and re-downloaded the client and it still is the same when I logged on. Is there anything I can do to fix this? It's very frustrating. Any players that have a very short call sign I can't even see, and the long ones are cut off almost entirely. Very weird problem. Please help.

Paul;
Not sure if you know this but a drone armed ship that has drone racks and ADD racks with same numbers causes duplicate drones on launch when Rack # and ADD # rack are the same.
Possible solution may be to ID the ADD racks in the IA step of drone launch from ' RACK 1 ' to ' ADD 1 '
Under the heading ' RACK ', can you can name the ADD rack as "ADD 1" , "ADD 2" etc instead of same numbers as the drone racks ?
Also, I now have to keep entering my Username and password when entering something on the BBS.
Before the client remembered them.
How do I get the rememberance thing back please ?
Thanks.
Cheers
Frank

WYN -Aux box Tourney cruiser
HHBB
did 71 damage, 41 internals
Cant hit the drones.
Takes the first 10 as a phaser, not torp
Takes the first 3 as a drone/hellbore
can you take a look?
Thanks.

Check you are up to date. Both with Java and the client. Second, check that you actually picked options.
(Hardcore making suggestions based on own experience...)

The options were there.
Client up to date.
Just updated Java, and was able to repeat.
HHBB Aux taking all drone/HB hits on 3.
Going strait to Phaser on 11.
Great on a normal ship, but is ignoring the AUX TC special dac rule.

Yep, confirmed.

Work fine for me.
Was this in a normal SFB room or a SFB Tournament room? The special DAC is only available via the Tournament room and not in the normal SFB room.
By Robert Grey (Tugger) on Friday, October 29, 2010 - 07:02 pm: Edit |
1st instance was in a Tourney room, to create the repeats I loaded a Tourney Aux in a normal SFB room.
Might just have been a glitch.

Hey Paul,
Minor bug found with Federation BTL. EAF only shows 2 batteries, not 4. It picks up the total power fine, but for some reason, the batteries are cut in half from the SSD.

Hi Paul. Hopefully this is where I am supposed to post this. Ken Lin and I were attempting to start a tourney game last night but the client would not allow me to proceed past ship selection. It shows me the ship selection list but after I choose ship or click start game, it prompts me for a ship name to proceed. However, the space for ship name and starting hex are not present. We tried various actions to remedy this: updating the client, different player opening the room, and I even uninstalled then re-installed client, but to no avail. I also attempted to start a tourney game with somone else but got the same result. I was wondering if you know how to correct this problem? Thanks for your time.

Hi Paul
When checking out some ships for a Survey captains game two things came up:
GFB and Tugger found and I dbl checked that the Frax SR has 3 AUX power on the EA form that is not on the SSD. These power can be destroyed on damage allocation.
The Romulan Scout Eagle/Pioneer Eagle on the Pioneer option the move cost is not adjusted up to 1.33 for the cargo pallet.
For your attention, Christopher

Chris:
Paul added a new section to BBS about SSD problems, post there
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, January 30, 2011 - 06:08 pm: Edit |
Frax SR is fixed and uploaded to the library. I am working on the SE/PE and changing the client to support having the pallet on the SSD.

Thanks Peter for the posting guide.
Thanks Paul for your very fast action.
Thanks Tony for kicking of a Captains Game.

Oh didn't see that your already working on both ships. I posted the same report in another topic.

Not 100% sure this is a bug, but...
When I am in a match, I can click the tab "Opponent Weapon Status" (IIRC., it was this one, and not the 'Expendables'?)
Anyway, I see listed:
Wild Weasel #1
Wild Weasel #2
...I'm curious what that means. Is this really a bug, in that I'm seeing he has two wild weasels? Or is this assuming two wild weasels are available, and just listing them out? Or...what?
This was a tournament game that was saved from a backup, if that makes a difference.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, February 06, 2011 - 11:04 pm: Edit |
Were the Wild Weasels still on the board?
By Xander Fulton (Dderidex) on Monday, February 07, 2011 - 12:09 am: Edit |
Neither of them. I'd only actually even seen one deployed (it was destroyed). The other shuttles I'd seen nothing of.
I don't even know if he HAS two of them or not - the match isn't over, and I've only seen one shuttle (one weasel). But there's definitely a "Wild Weasel #1" and "Wild Weasel #2" listed.
