That makes no sense. The only time a unit wold be added to the Weapon Status tab is when it is added to the board. Now, I need to make sure that the units get removed from the Weapon Status page when they are discarded.

Could you send me the saved game file?

By Xander Fulton (Dderidex) on Monday, February 07, 2011 - 12:55 pm: Edit

Sure, and I'll grab a screenshot when we pick up the match, again.

Issue identified! No bug!

For some reason, it had not 'bolded' the one row on the 'Opponent Weapon Status' for the weasel!

When we restored the match, today, it all made sense. The enemy ship was listed there, in bold, with its weapons status listed under it. And the Weasel was listed, in bold, with its weapons status listed under it...being 'Wild Weasel #1' as a new row. With the header in the black background and detail row with just white, it made sense that the breakdown was just the status on that one weasel (which had been launched).

However - wish I had a screenshot to show it - this wasn't the case, originally. For some reason, the first time I'd pulled that up, both rows looked the same.

Paul:

The launch dialog does not work with drone Defsats.

By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Sunday, March 13, 2011 - 05:25 pm: Edit

Just a general comment Paul .. has your hosting company been having connectivity issues lately? Both Rich and I have been having connection problems lately where we can watch all day but once we enter player mode we are dropping left and right. Started maybe two weeks ago.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, March 13, 2011 - 11:19 pm: Edit

Do you mean that when you attempt to launch drones from the DefSats it does not work?

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, March 13, 2011 - 11:19 pm: Edit

Peter,
What is your ISP?

By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Sunday, March 13, 2011 - 11:33 pm: Edit

Paul:

ISP: Oceanic TimeWarner, not sure what Rich's is. Also Frank stopped by and he mentioned he has been having the same problem.

DefSat: Yep, you have to manually add.

BTW noticed when you manually add a drone (add piece) you can't select "launching unit" the DefSat. Also when you manually add a drone and set target the targeting arrow doesn't seem to work. My guess is captor mines would have this same problem (not sure if SFBOL supports captor mines or not, never played with them)

Peter,
I will check. My hosting company was bought/merged with another one so it is possible that they are doing some throttling which has a habit of dropping connections. (I have seen this with Rogers which I know does this).

When it comes to the DefSats, I am not 100% sure of the issue.is. It should launch the "General" race drone. I will look into this, ASAP.

Just curious, is anyone else having trouble getting the cntl-keypad functionality to work? For example, cntl-7 used to allow me to turn left, but it's been not working for me lately...

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 05:45 am: Edit

Ken,
Where are you using it?

By Ken Lin (Old_School) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 07:19 pm: Edit

When I try to move my ship. I used to be able to click on the ship counter, then hit cntl-7 (keypad), and it would turn my ship left.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 09:04 pm: Edit

Ken,
To my knowledge that has not worked for a bit. Make sure that the chat line is highlighted and then try to press Cntl-7.

By Ken Lin (Old_School) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 09:15 pm: Edit

OK, will try that. Thanks Paul.

By Ken Lin (Old_School) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 09:22 pm: Edit

Seems to be working, thanks Paul. I find the keypad control to be much more efficient than pulling up the Piece List window, selecting the unit I want to select, then moving it, then closing the Piece List window. Glad the keypad functionality is still there.

Agreed. This is one of the things that will be fixed in the next update.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 - 11:16 pm: Edit

Peter,
The DefSat's are fixed. Download the updated def from the library.

By Peter Thoenen (Eol) on Thursday, March 17, 2011 - 04:00 am: Edit

Paul:

Glad hear it was a def issue, was worried it was a client code thing. Thanks much.

By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Thursday, March 17, 2011 - 09:41 pm: Edit

Paul,
Updating my library.
When I click on 'Download ', all is fine until it gets to the Maesron/CVS.gif (Maesron CVS ) spot.
Then it freezes up.
Cannot get past this.

Cheers
Frank

Frank,
What happens if you try to just download just that file?

By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Friday, March 18, 2011 - 02:35 pm: Edit

It freezes up when I just download it.

So I did a bypass of this ship.
Works ok now but I do not have this ship .def or .gif which is ok by me since I do not play this race at all.

Thanks

Cheers
Frank

If a player tries to slip or turn a ship by mistake, but the ship has already moved or doesn't move on the current impulse, the turn/slip marker moves into the ship's hex.

This is an old, old bug.

POT/POS markers also get kinda nutty when tractor beams are involved, but that's a bigger topic.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 01:50 pm: Edit

William,
Never heard the bug before. The old bug about POS/POT was when the POT/POS markers were added and then the person would undo the move they would still be on the board. In the above case, did you try undoing the move. In that case, it should move the POS/POT back to the correct positions.

By William T Wilson (Sheap) on Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 07:40 pm: Edit

This happens when the player tells the ship to move, but the move gets cancelled by the player in the popup that tells you you aren't scheduled to move or already moved. So, undo move is the wrong thing because there's no actual move to undo. Not sure what it would do to the POT/POS marker though.

William,
Ok. I will look into this. As I said no one has reported this to me and I have never run into it myself.
