Sounds like that the checksum on the server was not updated with the latest changes. Let me look into that.

Ditto

Ok. I did not like that. The updated files were not updated. The checksum on the server was updated, just not the files.

That is now fixed.

That fixed it, thanks Paul.

Paul,
Just tried to update the library.
Once the Update List is done, I am unable to down load any ship of any kind.

Cheers
Frank

The "Download" button was removed a few updates back.

The 64-bit version is quite nice. Thank for the update.

Need help, maybe. I was online trying to start a game and found I couldn't execute IA. There were several guys online when I left to reinstall the 64 bit client. I have done so, and have logged in, but can not see anyone else in the client. It could be everyone left...is anyone online right now?

email me at flame110908@yahoo.com, or write something here...I will be around. Thanks

Forget last message, think I am ok

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Thursday, August 02, 2012 - 11:21 pm: Edit

Jon,
Have you tried updating the client? I did upload a fix on Sunday.

By Andy Vancil (Andy) on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 - 12:27 am: Edit

Running Mac OS 10.4, just updated to 4.0.92 client. Started a game, but the buttons on the IA window didn't work. I don't know if I can upgrade my Java - I have 1.5.0_19.

I ended up borrowing a PC and installing the client, but that is less than optimal.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, August 31, 2012 - 05:07 pm: Edit

So having read Andy's message above, I just went and updated SFBOL, and am now using the 4.0.92 client as well. And have the same problems on my mac as Andy--when you bring up the IA control, you can select IA, pick weapons to fire, pick drones to launch, etc., but when you hit the "Execute" button, nothing happens. You can hit "Cancel" and get out of the IA control, but no matter how many times you open and select parts of IA, you can't "Execute" anything. Which is problematic.

I'm using an older Mac with system 10.4.11 (i.e. the most up to date system you can have on an old Mac using a Power PC processor), and it looks like I'm running Java 1.4.2 which may or may not be something I can upgrade at this point.

So does anyone who was having the same troubles as me (i.e. not being able to use impulse activity on SFBOL when using Mac OS 10.4) come up with a solution? Or know what Java is needed?

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Friday, September 07, 2012 - 04:14 pm: Edit

Peter,
Bring up the "About" window and tell me the version of the Java that you are seeing listed.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Friday, September 07, 2012 - 04:57 pm: Edit

It says:

Java Version = 1.5.0_19

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Friday, September 07, 2012 - 05:01 pm: Edit

How do you normally update the client?

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, September 08, 2012 - 09:23 am: Edit

The SFBOL Client? I hit the "check for updates" button, things download, and I restart the client.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Saturday, September 08, 2012 - 10:27 am: Edit

Peter,
When is the last time you did that? Because the above issue was fixed many weeks ago. It was just a fix to the SFB plugin and that is it. (i.e. No new version of the client)

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, September 08, 2012 - 01:07 pm: Edit

Whenever I posted about it--August 31, apparently.

I'll go and try updating again and see what happens.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Saturday, September 08, 2012 - 01:15 pm: Edit

Check to make sure that you have version 4.0.94 of the SFB Plugin.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Saturday, September 08, 2012 - 07:48 pm: Edit

Yeah, I have 4.0.94 (and have since it all fell apart for me). I still can't use Impulse Activity (i.e. when I attempt to make Impulse Activity happen, the "Execute" button doesn't do anything. I can cancel IA, but I can't Execute IA). Sad :-(

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Saturday, September 08, 2012 - 07:54 pm: Edit

That is weird. Have you submitted a Feedback?

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Sunday, September 09, 2012 - 08:19 am: Edit

I haven't yet. I'll go do so.

By Peter D Bakija (Bakija) on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 - 09:11 pm: Edit

Update: Still can't use IA.

I sent a Feedback report. I checked for new updates (I'm up to date). I tried a Tournament room today, and still couldn't execute Impulse Activity.

I can hit "No Activity" which seems to work like normal. I can hit "Cancel", which works like normal. But when I hit "Execute", nothing happens.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 - 10:09 pm: Edit

Ah. I found the issue. It is because the I am using an API that does not exist in the version of Java that you are running.
