What the heck is this?

Galactic Conquest (see articles in Captain's Log) is the longest running and biggest SFB campaign system. Lots of players have been involved for over a decade.

I would like to get a better understanding of the order in which RX's (reaction movement) occur. I know they happen 1 impulse after movement has set them off, but do Defensive RX's go before Offensive RX's? I do not see that ever noted in the rules. Is that the case or am I behind the learning curve? "
Galactic Conquest Rule D2.2 specifically lists all the offensive RX available. This rule also indicates the 1 segment delay for them as well. This implies the other RX in Galactic Conquest do NOT have this restriction. i.e. you could use a AM to defend a system on segment one of the turn.

so why did the Feds get their panties in a twist over our AM at MM46? If I could use my AM on segment one of the turn?

I guess you would have to ask them?

Hey guys
All of these points are mute ... ALL of you are going to DIE by Romulan Plasma before long anyway ... so ... why waste your breath at this point ?
Apologise to your ship crews ( as you are going to get them killed soon ), abandon your bases and
JUST SAY "NO" when ordered to fight the Romulans !!!
If you comply, you can be assured, you will die quickly.

Gee John you sure seem mighty warlike these days...too much ale?

I will second that comment!
If the Romulans think they have the military muscle to make a difference then I say come on up to the north and help fight the "Axis of Evil" (for those who do not know - Feds, Klingons, and Seltorians and a lackey called the Quari).
Show the JFP (Jindarian Federation of Planets) just how a real war is fought! We will even give you bases to operate from to teach us those special tactics you have perfected.
WE say come on up to our part of space.

We've been on the way for years. At the current rate (sublight ships), we expect to reach Klingon space within 5 years, and the JFP/UFP border within 10-12.
If you provide us (free of charge) 2nd Generation warp R&D tech, we'll see if we can't get there sooner (sublight stuff takes a while and the non-indigenous Romulan hulls we have have defective navigational sensors...).
And if you are really nice, we'll bring along a Snipe-R or two. (:-)

From what I've seen of this campaign, there is somebody in it who really needs to watch his back.

Greetings fellow Galaxians.
I'm trying out my new password, etc.
I propose that fighters in cargo boxes be deployed at the end of a turn. This would really keep it simple.

That would defeat the whole reason for carrying Ftrs in Cargo boxes. Since Ftrs are resupplied at the beginning of each new turn.
There are enough risks in carrying Ftrs in Cargo boxes as it is due to the possible destruction of the ship.
The reason for the addendum to the Ftr rule is to give True and Casual CV's a more realistic touch. Each Game turn is 6 months. Each of the 12 impulses are 2 weeks. So the question is how quickly can we ready Ftrs for action between combat? Does it take 2 or 4 weeks?
Example of why someone may want to use Ftrs in cargo: Sqdn has 2xCV groups (holding 24xFtrs) and engages the enemy on the 4th impulse of an offense. They lose all their Ftrs during that impulse. Why does the CV group have to wait until the next turn (8 impulses)to replace its loses? If an empire wants to buy extra Ftrs and hold them in cargo to be used for combat later in the turn they should have that option.
Also it allows you to probe deeper into enemy space without having to race home to get resupplied every time you lose your attrition units.
It gives you an extra reason to form up CV and CVA groups.
Just some passing thoughts.
