@ Gary - I enjoyed listening to your discussion on this with Paul on last week's podcast. Just FYI, I really enjoy listening to the podcast when you call in. You have a lot of interesting ideas, and you get Paul talking more about the SFU than programming issues, and for that I thank you! (Sorry Paul
Off topic but just so you know, I think you contribute a lot both to this site and to the podcast. And although I don't post here much, I do enjoy reading what you have to say. And no, I'm not sick of hearing about Omega. Take it easy!

Thanks for that, but in this thread the real gratitude should go to François Angers for creating the Triangulum setting.
François, if you are reading this, please note that I for one am grateful for the work you have put into M33 as a setting, and hope that it will be rewarded with formal publication when the time is ripe. Merci beaucoup, et vive la galaxie du Triangle!

Second Gary's sentiments.

Hi everyone, haven't been here in a while. I'm still alive but I don't have an active playing group and haven't played in a long time.
I have no idea where the project stand at this time, no idea if it still a viable project for ADB, they seem to have a full plate right now.

Bonjour, François!
I'm not sure if you and I have actually corresponded before, so thank you for taking the time to post.
Do you still have a copy of your most recent submission on file, in case it is needed? (SPP had a major computer crash earlier in the year, and it's not clear if your updated file was a casualty of this incident.)
Also, is it true that you have attempted to re-draw the Triangulum map in order to better fit the size of that galaxy as we currently know about it? (And if so, is the revised map a sketch outline, or done up in hex form?)
And are you in any way familiar with Federation Commander? (I wrote the rules portion of the Omega playtest conversion pack for FC, and I would love to see Triangulum make it over to that game system once this setting succeeds in establishing itself in SFB terms.)

Gary I sent an e-mail to an old address I had from you let me know if it worked

It did, thanks.

I, for one, look forward to more from Triangulum. I remember when you had some of you designs available on the internets long ago, and would like to see more of them.

I also would love to see more from the Triangulum files.

I too would like to see more!

A note for François: if you're reading this, and have a moment to spare, please get in touch via email. There is something I was hoping to follow up with you on, if I may.

Hi everyone,
Here a little idea about the other four empires I've sent to ADB:
Atrean Directory:
Armed with pulse phaser (LPP: Light Pulse Phaser, TPP: Triple-Mount LPP, MPP: Medium Pulse Phaser and DPP: Dual-mount MMP).
Armed with Variable Plasma (PL-V): Each connected PL-V launcher can be combined to make a larger torpedo.
Plasma Support Chamber: Can be used to modify dramatically a PL-V.
By A. David Merritt (Adm) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 12:19 am: Edit |
ooooo, cool it would be nice to see more of Triangulum.
By Francois Angers (Francoisngg) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 12:21 am: Edit |
Frigian Kingdom:
Armed with pulse phaser (LPP, GPP: Gatling LPP, MPP and EPP: Extended range PP).
Armed with Plasmatic Lance (2-turn arming weapon) (Light Plasmatic Lance: poor damage, great range and good chance to hit, Heavy Plasmatic Lance: great damage, average chance to hit and poor range).
Stiletto Missile (SM) short range defensive missile.
By Francois Angers (Francoisngg) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 12:31 am: Edit |
Human Republic:
Armed with Proton Pulse Emitter (P1E (smaller P1D on smaller ship) and P1B).
Armed with Quantum Phased Torpedo (QPT): 2-turn arming weapon, costly to arm, great damage but really poor chance to hit.
Targetting Scanner: Can be used to upset the low chance to hit of the QPT or actually improve PPE damage.
Transwarp Rocket Launcher (TWR): Small very fast seeking weapon that can be fired in direct-fire mode and in salvo.
By Francois Angers (Francoisngg) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 12:39 am: Edit |
Valorean Coalition:
Armed with Pulse Phaser (LPP and MPP).
Tri-Beam Amplifier (TBA): 2-turn arming weapon. Range-of-effect weapon that does heavy damage in enveloping mode. When combined with the Magnifier a TBA ship firing another TBA in rapid sequence will score more and more damage on the magnified shield.
Magnifier (MAG): Can be used in conjunction with the TBA to score more damage on the magnified shield or to improve the damage of a PP.
By Francois Angers (Francoisngg) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 12:46 am: Edit |
Also in the work and pretty close to be ready for playtest:
The Azary Haven: Armed with Ruptor Gun, Shield Degenerator Bomb and Lance Torpedo Launcher).
The Wega'an: Armed with Variable Plasma and Plasma Converter Tube. Also the ships are very tough.
The Yvrin Oligarchy: Armed with Proton Pulse Gun and Scrambler.
By Francois Angers (Francoisngg) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 12:51 am: Edit |
The map has been redone to be closer to the actual size of the galaxy. Also the background history has been redone to fit the new map.
Also some empires were dropped, I admit I was a little too ambitious. This still leave at least 21 empires to build, more then enough.
By Gary Carney (Nerroth) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 10:31 am: Edit |
The Atrean plasma weapon might need a new shorthand, since "Pl-V" has already been used for the Veltressai early plasma torpedo published in Module Y2.
Perhaps Plasma-A (for Atrean)? So far as I am aware, there is no current "Pl-A" system in print so far.
By Francois Angers (Francoisngg) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 10:55 am: Edit |
I don't have Y2 yet so didn't know.
By A. David Merritt (Adm) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 11:09 am: Edit |
Plasma-A is used by the Triaxians from C-4.
