Found the problem with the counters. It is because the person who originally added the ship still has a local library with the counters. So it is expecting everybody else to have it locally.
I will see if I can fix the issue.

Hi Paul,
I have two issues I hope you can help with. If this has been responded to elsewhere, I apologize.
1. Last night I noticed that the Hydran Fusion Overload table doesn't match the printed table in C1. I don't have it right in front of me, but it was at one of the ranges where you roll a 4 I think, SFBOL lists 2 damage, but the printed C1 table only lists 1 damage. Which one is right?
2. Recently I've noticed that all black ship counters on my screen are now showing up as gray. Is there a way to fix this? I have the latest client, but the problem remains.
Incidentally, I discovered your podcast recently and have been enjoying listening to it. Good work, there! I hope you keep it going. I also enjoy listening to Gary. Maybe you should call it "The Paul and Gary Show"? Haha
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 - 07:08 pm: Edit |
Clint,
1) Module C1 is correct.
2) It has been reported by multiple individuals, this is due to some people still having some local library files. I have fixed the client so that if it is not local it will grab the copy in the library. Overall this is a bad thing since when a ship gets updated the players with the copy in the local library will not match the players that are loading from the server.
When it comes to the podcast. Thank you. And yes, sometime I feel like it is the Paul and Gary show. :-)

Thanks Paul! I'll look into deleting the local library and updating it.

Clint,
Just realize that this will help other players see the proper counters for the ships that you add and not help you see the correct counters of your opponents ships.

I think I found a bug when playing a game today where it says I launch shuttles but they never get placed on the map.
This happened to a number of my Gorn units both military hulled and Aux's no idea what the problem was it didn't matter if I tried to launch manually or in IA. I finally had to add shuttles manually, but the first few shuttles from each ship launched normally.
The numbering on the shuttles also got very weird with numbers in the 40's when I only had about 20 shuttles out.
The other bug in the game was the Klingon ADD racks that still get shown as duplicate drone racks in the drone launch step.

Josh,
Have you sent a Feedback on the issue? When it comes to the Klingon ADD rack thing was that for the tournament ship or some other Klingon ship? If it is some other ship could you tell me the ship?
About the shuttles, I think I know the issue and it has to do with you specifying and shuttle launch order and other orders preempting the launch.
By Josh Driscol (Gfb) on Thursday, August 15, 2013 - 05:52 pm: Edit |
I didn't send a feedback but will do that now.
The Klingon ships affected were D6B, F5B, and F5SB.
The Gorn ships affected by the shuttle launch problems were the CA, DDL, SC, and a Gorn F-EL.

Yeah when people preempt your drone or shuttle launches the numbering system gets thrown off that's not that big a deal but this was the first time its failed to place pieces on the board when in activity it shows them being added.
This is what posted when I did my shuttle launch activity
Event 4.15.6B08.05 :Activity (GaiusFrackingBaltar): SC Louisiana is launching 2 shuttle(s)/fighter(s)/drogues(s)
PC Octothorp is launching 1 shuttle(s)/fighter(s)/drogues(s)
F-EL Salami is launching 2 shuttle(s)/fighter(s)/drogues(s)
CA Vakak is launching 2 shuttle(s)/fighter(s)/drogues(s)
DDL Texas is launching 2 shuttle(s)/fighter(s)/drogues(s)
SC Louisiana launches S28.4.15, Location: 5317A Speed: 6
SC Louisiana launches S29.4.15, Location: 5317B Speed: 6
PC Octothorp launches S30.4.15, Location: 6428B Speed: 6
F-EL Salami launches S31.4.15, Location: 7512D Speed: 6
F-EL Salami launches S32.4.15, Location: 7512E Speed: 6
CA Vakak launches S24.4.15, Location: 6423C Speed: 6
CA Vakak launches S25.4.15, Location: 6423C Speed: 6
DDL Texas launches S26.4.15, Location: 6217A Speed: 6
DDL Texas launches S27.4.15, Location: 6217B Speed: 6
But most of those shuttles never got placed on the map.
I did delete my local library after starting this game so that future games wouldn't have counter issues I wonder if that could be part of the problem but other shuttles launched earlier in the game were unaffected by the bug.

Auto phaser energy in tournament games is a real boon, but capacity isn't reduced by damage. If you take damage on phasers when your capacitor is full the capacitor should be reduced.

Paul,
Just noticed the ranges for Displacement Device is incorrect on the chart you have.
It shows a range of 3-5 then 6-22
Should be 3-15.
Cheers
Frank

Frank,
Fixed. It will be in the next update.

I was using the new add piece window and noticed a bug.
If you check the "Show icons in list" button the client freezes up.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Friday, October 18, 2013 - 05:49 pm: Edit |
Josh,
Yes. Don't do that. It freezes up because it is downloading every ship counter before it will show it.

Paul,
Just sent you a Feedback re the recording of fire status.
For some reason, the weapon status of my Lyrans ships which fired a wad of disruptors is not recorded.
Cheers
Frank

I had that happen and it was the other guy not being updated to the latest client version.

Frank,
Found the issue. I will post an updated release tonight.

Paul,
I did a test run of applying damage to a Kzinti DD offline.
Applied 90 on #6 and when I selected no more phasers to be hit, the remaining damage was not applied by the client.
It simply stopped there.

I know that this has been brought up before re : automated phaser caps, but let me reiterate:
The Gatts cost .25 no matter how many pulses you fire. It's highly possible that this could be overlooked in EA and I wouldn't fault my opponent for it.
Firing phasers with reserve power results in what looks like an overuse of the capacitor. i.e you end up with -1.5 cap or whatever the case is.
This could also cause confusion and I wouldn't fault my opponent for it.
These things can be handled manually of course but if that's the case I think i might just prefer manual accounting altogether.
I am not advocating that you spend an inordinate amount of time on it or trying to demand anything. I don't even know if there is an easy fix, particularly with the reserve power issue. Maybe adding an EA line for phasers fired with reserve and tying it into both the phaser cap line and the reserve power used line??? Don't know... just giving my opinion here
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 08:45 pm: Edit |
Frank,
Update has been released.
BTW, I have not been able to duplicate the issue with Damage Allocation. Tried both 3rd Gen and 2nd Gen SSDs and both worked just fine.
Andrew,
I have added a line in the EA (for newly added ships) to support the added of power to the phaser capacitor during the turn. This should allow manual correction.

In my current game I cannot get drone arros from the Board.
If I click on the drone in the inventory, the arrow appears on the Board, however, clicking on the drone in the board does not result in the drone arrow appearing.
Also, the "highlight" border does not appear around the drone. However, that stack is raised to the top and if I double-click I do get the details on the drone.
Feedback sent

You cant even select units with a left mouse click on the counter right now. Its nice to be able to select a piece on the map and goto the movement arrows and be able to move the piece.
If you drag a box on the map you can still select multiple units but something isn't working with selecting individual units.

You rock! It's the difference between 12 minute drone moves and 1 minute drone moves. So, thank you greatly.
