this "bug" has happened several times, with many opponents, oddly it just started happening a month ago. I am on a 100mb/5mb connection hard wired into the router.

what about your version of the client. Is yours and the opponents the same?

I got Miffed with AT&T and switched to Dish Network's satellite interweb service. The final nail in the coffin was my Plat Hat fight with Gregg. At the time his theory on it was the miniscule bandwidth available couldn't cope with the modest data requirement.
Dish Network has a data allotment per month and once that is expended it throttles back to nearly useless. I can order an extra bucket of data, but once I do the kids get back on Youtube and it boils off pretty fast.

Peladine Drones are being mis-represented in the client:
1) Claims they are a "User-Defined Seeking Weapon"
2) Race is "User-Defined"
3) Unit Type is "????"
To reproduce:
1) Launch a Peladine drone (I did it through a SP. There is no listing in the "Other" tab when adding it manually). Use the normal methods to pick a drone target, etc.
2) click on the drone, go to "Piece Info"->"View Info"
3) See the above-mentioned entries in error
Client version is reported as 4.1.03, java version.
EDIT: Additionally, I notice there is no listing to manually place a Paravian QWT. It is likely to have the same errors as above.

Matt,
Paledine Drones are:
1) User-Defined Seeking Weapons because they are defined in the library and included in the client
2) Race should be Peladine. I will check on fixing that.
3) It is not part of the "Other" tab. It is found on the Library tab because it is part of the library.

Paul,
Ted and I noticed that the log of events gets truncated if the order is a long one.
ie, [ short version ]
Ship A labs plasmas A, B, C, D is entered.
The log will show " hip A labs plasmas A, B "
The plasmas C, D lab attempts does not show up in the log.
Cheers
Frank

Paul
Played the Kzinti 3G DD last night vs a Fed 2G DD.
The alignment of the 3G KZinti DD is off.
The ship's hull type [ Kzinti Destroyer ] was in center of my screen and the image itself along with all boxes was to the far left.
I made this ship and when I saved the completed ship, everything was center lined albeit it was to the far left of my screen at time of making.
Just thought you should know.

Paul,
Slight hiccup re a change of the 'Legal Speed Plot' for ships.
The orange line is one imp behind, that really causes confusion [ and mayhem if not careful ! ] when doing an un-plotted speed change.
Any chance of getting that orange line to line up exactly to the current imp ?
Thanks.
Cheers

Frank,
I will see what I can do.

I had a problem with the client not recognizing my movements.
When I would move my Point of turn and point of slip markers wouldn't update and the client would prompt me to move before Activity.
When I got tractored Old School's ship wouldn't move with my ship, but my ship would move with his.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Tuesday, January 06, 2015 - 10:44 pm: Edit |
Chris,
When is the last time you updated the client? I ask because the Point of Turn/Point of Slip thing was an old issue when people would delete the POT/POS and then re-add them manually.
If it has been in the past year, please send me a copy of the saved game file.

I've been keeping up to date. The save is in the mail.

I was up to date as well.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Wednesday, January 07, 2015 - 09:38 pm: Edit |
Chris,
Thanks. Found the issue. It is that you have a 0 range radius ring. This is causing an internal error. As a workaround remove that and it should work fine. A fix for the issue with be in the next client update.

Note to Chris: stop raising r0 ESGs, your weapon is already too powerful as it is.

The EA forms for the Romulan SE and KE look off - it looks like they are the forms for the WE.
The SE doesn't have lines for the scout channels.
The KE doesn't have lines for the 2 plasma Fs, and also has the wrong cloak cost.
By Matthew Potter (Neonpico) on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 - 11:21 pm: Edit |
That is a problem with the 3rd Gen SSD. Get on the guy about it who made the Romulans.
By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 - 11:57 pm: Edit |
Paul,
Noticed Kzinti ships is not keeping track of weapons fire in ''Opponents Weapons Tab'' and '' My Weapons Fire Tab "
Ted[ playing Kzinti ] does not see weapons fire tracking at his end nor do I as Klingons as enemy.
Klingon ships are keeping track of weapons fire and both sides and we both can see this.
I have both SSDs, 3G and 2nd Gen.
Sending game save.
Cheers

This morning I noticed an error with the Lyran CAL. It has 31 warp but the EAF shows it only having 16; it's not counting the center warp engine.
The phaser cap is off also. The EAF shows 11.5 capacitor but it should be 11. I dont have tons of experience with the interface so hopefully it's not an error on my part.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, February 01, 2015 - 01:43 pm: Edit |
Ed,
The CAL is now fixed.
By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Sunday, February 01, 2015 - 03:03 pm: Edit |
Paul,
FYI,
I did a test damage on the Lyran CAL.
Whenever a 7 is rolled, the damage is a 'Mine Rack #DER " or " Mine Rack # BD ".
In fact, the damage applied on 7s are applied to the boxes of " HET, BD, UIM, DERFACS " with Mine Rack in front of them.
When I edited these boxes as damaged, internal damage was ok then.
Cheers
Frank
