Frank,
Thanks. Found the bug. I have fixed it and it will be in the next update of the client.
Jon,
Yeah. I need to work on the option mount problem.
By Jon Berry (Laz_Longsmith) on Sunday, May 22, 2016 - 02:33 pm: Edit
Paul - I was looking at the files, and I realized that the problem could be resolved by simply breaking each Option Mount into individual pieces - with the notation that two space items like ESGs, Plasma-G's and higher, etc, will have one box with that system, and the adjacent one marked as 'Void'.

Had an interesting hitch with randyblair where neither of us could make the other a player in our SFB gameroom. he said it's java recognizing his computer as his 3-monitor setup, witch he is down to 1 at the moment, but I fail to see how that factors into it since we can chat like normal in said gameroom.
Also, we both have the current client version.
By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 - 11:00 pm: Edit
The client has way too many mini pop up windows that "remember" where they were on your screen. If I have three screens the last time I play SFBOL then it remembers which monitor those windows were on. Yet another reason why JAVA sucks and the client should be written in something more modern.

Robert,
I will look into this. My guess is that I forgot to add a check when I am restoring the position.
Randy,
Do you have any suggestions when it comes to the many popup windows? Should I consolidate some of the windows?
When it comes to using Java for the client, what do you suggest it be written in? Do you have a good person to suggest to help porting 290,000 lines of code?

That's a whole lot of lines !
It must take you a while to track down a bug ?

The worst is he still has to integrate all the new 3g ship display countdown boxes. I have noticed that all of the metal hull Jindarians. The rear firing railguns are labeled wrong they are matching the forward rail guns. RF-R LF-L instead of RR-R LR-L
Also if i load fighters on the ship there is no place to do the arming for the fighters. No big deal i just make a note and writ it under shuttles.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Thursday, May 26, 2016 - 07:03 pm: Edit
Greg,
Thanks for tell us about this. The Jindarians should be easy to fix.
The arming of fighters, should not have been broken. I will look into that.

I think the line is just not there for the fighters because i am adding them,on the ship. So the energy allocation form is not showing fighter reload.

I think a checkbox or setting that causes the client to "forget" the previous placement of the windows would be sufficient.

Paul, we've already discussed this. My answer is the same. Therefore, I'm attempting it without your help, on my own timetable.
Quote:When it comes to using Java for the client, what do you suggest it be written in?
Wouldn't bother, personally, as I've said before. A total rewrite from scratch is where I'm thinking.

Remember that issue I had with the Fed BB and its duplicated weapons? Well I found a few more ships with that issue: Fed GCA, and the Fed BT (as well as its refitted versions)

That sounds like a 3G conversion error Rob.
I'll let Paul & Jason know.
By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 - 08:01 pm: Edit
Frank,
Yeah. I will do a search on it. The Fed BB looked somebody imported the 2G ship twice. The first time with no size set so you will not see the boxes.
By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 - 10:17 pm: Edit
Robert,
If you need a particular Fed ship ASAP which has an error etc, let us know pronto and so we can fix it.
Thanks.
Cheers
Frank

I don't need any ships at this time. I'm just reporting things as I see them.
But I would like to request the SSDs from Booms and Saucers. (Module D3)

Another Error. Klingon Early Transport Tug (maybe the other ones as well) do not seem to mark energy correctly on their EAF. My opponent needs this tug for a mission we will be playing soon.

Guys,
All of the Feds that had the issue with double boxes are fixed.
By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Wednesday, June 01, 2016 - 11:56 pm: Edit
The T4 is one of my builds.
Found the issue, forgot to indicate the MC of the ship.
Corrected and resent to Paul.
Thanks Robert.
Cheers

Rob, I actually get a Tug-B for our scenario.
By Francois Lemay (Princeton) on Thursday, June 02, 2016 - 04:05 pm: Edit
Randy,
I did the 3G version of the TGA and TGB and they also had MC issues.
I have corrected it and just sent to Paul for upload.
Sorry for any delays this will cause.
Cheers

It's ok, bro. Rob retreated so I'm just left fighting banshees (and Ken).

Updated Tugs are posted.
Robert,
Thank you for finding and reporting the issues.

Yet another duplicate weapon error. This time it the Generic Star Base with Kzinti refits, as well as both shield refits as well. All of its Drone-H slots appear 5 times.
The same goes for the Kzinti STB and STF (with drones appearing in 3s)
