Historically, any surviving YDDs that made it to the Old Colonies after the successful invasion and fall of the Hydran Kingdom's "on-map" territories were converted into YDSR and operated throughout the Hydran civil wars and rebuilding. They were invaluable in finding new resources and bringing the Hydrans back in Y134.

What if there were discussions during the bleak civil war days about recalling them from survey duty as a last ditch effort to defend from Guild offensives? What would the designs look like?

Following the pattern for the GRN and VOL, the only changes (for the Local Defense ships) were to replace the Nova Cannon with Fusion Beams, and replace 2 of the Phaser 2 with Phaser G.

The Carriers though seem to add about 6 boxes to the shuttle bays overall, and eliminate the Nova Cannons, in addition to the above mentioned conversion of Phaser 2 to Phaser G for point defense. This poses some crowding issues on the SSD. I would propose a 9 box shuttle bay with 8 fighters, placing the fighter complement halfway between the GRV and the LFV. With the NC removed, that frees up 2 boxes, but I propose that we take a Transporter and a couple of Hull boxes to help with the crowding in the SSD.
