Well a large part of the Gorn fleet was busy parked over T45 (30+ ships? I forget the exact count). A multifront war is the best way to lose in this game.

Ah.....sniping.

So what's open?

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 - 11:09 pm: Edit

They are in a 2.5 front war. Adding still more is in poor taste, and given how much I've invested in the conflict, it would be rude to pilfer my spoils.

Message from the Jindarian Fungus eater-"Federation Alliance: The Jindarian Alliance DOES NOT WANT CONFLICT with you at all, with that said My Alliance does NOT understand your claim to the Gorn Empire and its Planets and the threat of War if any other neighbor also gets involved.

One of My Alliance Members has already taken a Gorn Planet, attacking Him would be an act of War with US, My Alliance consists of Jindarian Federation/ISC/Canadian.

Jindy

Roy"

You need to explain your alliance...

Seltorian Tribunal Cruisers in sector D25, this is the Imperial Klingon Vessel Nina Alexeyevna Lobkovskaya, we have you on long range sensors. You are perilously close to a developing Imperial Klingon Empire Colony. State your intentions in this sector of the Galaxy or the Klingon Empire will designate your Empire as a threat and we will be at war.

Galactic Economic Census report (preliminary)

Empire/% of galactic income Y154 to date
K 7.26%
H 7.25%
L 7.11%
Z 6.74%
I 6.71%

Does not include impact of trade routes (coming soon!) Does not include income from empires not yet discovered.

By Kurt Byanski (Kurtski) on Monday, September 19, 2016 - 02:59 pm: Edit

Is this based solely on occupation of Major and Minor systems?

By shawn smith (Shawn) on Monday, September 19, 2016 - 07:49 pm: Edit

soon to change.

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Monday, September 19, 2016 - 10:41 pm: Edit

Major, minor, core economics. The spreadsheet handles trade routes I just haven't keyed them in (getting the systems, adding new empires, rejiggering the cell references, and handling the empire extinctions took several hours). It assumes everyone has the same core economics (not true I expect). It handles minor vs. major empires. It assume each empire runs its economy right to the edge of exhaustion, then takes a turn of peace. It falsely assumes that the turn you own a system it is fully productive. I could add more refinement, but as it is there are 12-15 tables- it isn't clear to me if getting all the off by a bit things perfect adds any real value since they are off for everyone in the same way.

It also doesn't allow for empire specific penalties/bonuses.

At present it doesn't have any allowances for MRRs- I presumably could fold that in but it requires a new set of assumptions (#SR, type of SR, crew quality, stop at 15%, 20% or in between, two MRR techs, LX in group) and back calculation after the empire completes the MRR. As we have many new systems showing up and new empires (cough, Sharkhunters), just getting that to stabilize is the current tracking priority.

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Monday, September 19, 2016 - 10:45 pm: Edit

All the numbers will change. Just adding the newly discovered Sharkhunters made all the values for previous turns shift.

This is a long term study for U6 (there is one for U5 too) of economic trends.

The various now extinct empires show how things change- some of them were a few percent each and are now <<1% and dropping.

Doesn't allow for CAN-5/CAN-3/AW games, either.

Updated numbers (including TPs)-
K- 7.33%
L- 7.12%
H- 7.07%
Z- 6.66%
I- 6.55%

The 12 fiscally extinct empires make up 5.14% of the running Galactic Domestic Product.

Semi-annual GDP estimated at 17,992EPs (up from 16,000 several years ago).

By Kurt Byanski (Kurtski) on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 - 01:05 pm: Edit

The TPs don't appear to have made a huge impact on the percentages.

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 - 04:10 pm: Edit

Flip flopped the L/H. The long term data will probably be more interesting- folks are still building their baseline TRs (the UFP's Neutral Zone means they are one of the few major powers with zero TRs).

The U.F.P. used to have a trade pact with the Orions... their attack on my convoys changed that. My attack on their home world this turn cemented the assumption that trade routes to independant Orions will no longer be possible.

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 - 06:37 pm: Edit

Mutter mutter mutter. I guess I should factor in the Orions and WYN.

Hydran orders in

By Howard Bampton (Bampton) on Thursday, September 22, 2016 - 09:55 pm: Edit

Factoring in the WYN and Orions, the BEM (Bampton Economic Model) spits out these numbers:

Lowest game to date income- 565 (Qixa and Iridani; both extinct as independent powers)

Lowest non-extinct empire's income- 1921 by the Pronhoulite and Veltressai.

Major powers in increasing projected income- Triaxian, Qari, Jind Fed, Jind Conf, Tholian(!), FRAX, Canadiens, Romulans, Gorns, UFP, ISC, Kziniti, Hydran, Lyran, Klingons.

There is roughly a 2-1 ratio between the two ends.

Galactic GDP is estimated at just over 18,000 EPs the past 6 months (up from 16452 when record keeping began).

Note- the BEM makes certain broad assumptions and is thus not 100% correct at the scale in question (there is no modeling in this variation for example).
