R9.5 1st line of 2nd column ending Special s should be part of 5th line starting ensors are destroyed...
R9.27. Line 3 states chart below only refer to fighters on pallet, but the charts include the tug fighters.
This rule also states tug fighters are hybrid fighters. However R9.R4 states tug plus cv pallet has an os fighter squadron, but the pallet squadron is a standard 12 fighter squadron.

John Naylor:
The paragraph under (R9.R4) says you need to check each ship description and that sometimes the oversize squadron is broken down into some fighters counting as Hybrids and not against the total number of fighters. In the case of the tugs with CV pallets this comes to the front. The combination has more than 12 fighters, but counts as just the 12 fighters on the pallet because the tug's own fighters are still treated as hybrid fighters and not against the total number of allowed carrier fighters, even though the tug+pallet combination is considered a carrier.

R1.A31-9 Variant Jumbo Auxiliary Assault Transport. Missing the "A" in its R number. Ryan J Opel 20 Nov 2014

SPP. thanks for reply. Bit I didn't understand was why the "os" designation was required for the tug + pallet combination when the non hybrid fighters are only 12, so never would count as more than a single squadron. The os seemed redundant to me.

R9.5 Scout (SC) under the picture in the right hand column.
Text starting "Scouts were part of the fleet that retook..." and continuing through "The Scout is a variant of the Hunter (R9.6)" is mistakenly inserted into the middle of the sentence "Special s(inserted text)ensors are destroyed by 'torpedo' damage points."

John Naylor:
The Tug and Pallet combination counts as a single ship for purposes of its place in a battle group. The 12 fighters on the pallet count against the total number of fighters that can be brought to a battle, the fighters on the tug do not, but the combination is (in the case of the original tug) is 15 fighters. For purposes of oversized squadrons it is larger than 12 fighters, and has the OS note in (R9.R4) so that you will go to the ship description and see that the three fighters on the tug are still considered to be hybrid fighters, even though you could in the course of the battle incorporate the tug's fighters into the squadron as replacements.
As to your note about the item under the table in (R9.27). Could you clarify, as you may be referring to something I am not seeing. The note as I read it, (the paragraph right after the table) says that the tug's fighters are included in the table, but that the fighters of any escorts are not included. Thus in Y180+ for the Caravan plus Pallet combination it shows 15 Stingers, or six Heavy Stingers and three Stingers, which does not include the six Stingers the group would have if it was using the Aegis Destroyer as an escort in that year.
Nick Blank:
Valid line item, but John Naylor already reported it as part of the first post in this topic after the one opening it.

(R9.16) ESCORT LANCER (DE): In first paragraph change (R2.3) to (R9.3).
HYDRAN PALLETS (page 13): Change the text "None of the pallets listed here are capable of independent operation (although the troop-carrying pallet can land by the gravity system)" to "With the exception of the troop transport pallet (R9.25), none of the pallets listed here are capable of independent operation". The description of the P-TT (R9.25) indicates it can be used for independent operation.
(R9.54) LORD PALADIN (LP): The image for the lord paladin is larger than the paladin and its other variants. Not sure which is the correct size.
(R9.107) HEAVY GENDARME POLICE CUTTER (HGN): At end of the second paragraph change "sihp" to "ship" and add a period at the end of the sentence.
(R9.120) HEAVY FIGHTER RESUPPLY PALLET (P-CR): In the first paragraph change (R4.89) to (J4.89).
(R9.AF2) STINGER-1F FIGHTER (St-1F): In the third paragraph change (R9.AF1) to (R9.F1).
(R9.F2) STINGER-2 (St-2): This rule is found under the "(R9.F) HYDRAN FIGHTERS IN CAPTAIN'S LOG" section. This rule is incorrectly labeled (R9.2) but should be (R9.F2) to match the rule number of the main Stinger-2 entry.
(R9.AF14) HYDRAN HEAVY SUPERIORITY FIGHTER (ST-R): In the second paragraph change (R.F2) to (R9.F2).
(R9.PF1) HARRIER FAST PATROL SHIP (HAR): I am confused about some of the images. Presumably the two images for the (HAR) are top and bottom views but it is unclear which is the top and which is the bottom view. Since most PFs images do not show the center warp I assume that the center warp is on the bottom of the PFs (but in that case the top view is below the bottom view for the harrier). Under the Harrier-L is shown two images but the images cannot be a top and bottom view of the Harrier-L since the dimensions of the two images are different so one of these images is presumably wrong.
HYDRAN STAR KINGDOM PALLETS (page 74): Change the text "None of the pallets listed here are capable of independent operation (although the troop-carrying pallet can land by the gravity system)." to "With the exception of the early troop transport pallet (YR9.11), none of the pallets listed here are capable of independent operation". The description of the P-YTT (YR9.11) indicates it can be used for independent operation.
(YR9.11) EARLY TROOP TRANSPORT PALLET (P-YTT): In eighth paragraph change (YR9.19) to (YR9.20).
(YR9.12) EARLY SELF-DEFENSE PALLET (P-YSD): In fourth paragraph change (YR9.19) to (YR9.20).
(YR9.20) EARLY YEARS STRATEGIC TRANSPORT (YFT): In fist paragraph change "Hydans" to "Hydrans".
(R9.209) DEMON HUNTER-X ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY HEAVY WAR DESTROYER (HDWX): In the third to last paragraph change (XD3.0) to (XD13.0).
(R9.XF1) STINGER-X FIGHTER: Add "(St-X)" after "STINGER-X FIGHTER" since the Fighter Type is missing from the header.
(R1.R-9) REFITS: In Y182 PF SHIELD REFITS, change "(R1.PF0)" to "(K3.0)" since the reference is for interceptors but rule (R1.PF0) does not cover interceptors (at least not in my version of the rules).
(R1.68W-9) FIGHTER SKID: Add "(FTRS)" after "FIGHTER SKID" since the Ship Type is missing from the header. Per Module G3 the ship type for this unit is FTRS.
By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 - 03:15 pm: Edit |
(R9.PF1) HAR: I am confused about some of the images. Presumably the two images for the (HAR) are top and bottom views but it is unclear which is the top and which is the bottom view. Since most fast patrol ship images do not show the center warp I assume that the center warp is on the bottom of the fast patrol ships (but in that case the top view is below the bottom view for the Harrier). Under the Harrier-L is shown two images but the images cannot be a top and bottom view of the Harrier-L since the dimensions of the two images are different so one of these images is presumably wrong.
Jeffrey Coutu:
Most of the PF graphics are bottom views showcasing the 360 degree phasers, which would not be 360 if the center warp engine (which is on top of the hull) were in the way blocking the row of hexes immediately behind the 360 degree phasers. If the center warp engine is shown, then it is a top view because we thought some specific features needed to be showcased from that angle (such as the fighter mech-links on the Fi-Con). The PFL is shown top and bottom, but obviously we forgot to show the overhang of the added systems of the leader on the bottom view.
As to the PF shield refit, the reference for Interceptors should have been to (R9.PF0), the rule number for the Hydran Harbringer Interceptor. Most empires use that rule number, i.e., "R__.PF0" for their interceptors, e.g., the Klingon H1 is (R3.PF0), the Federation Conjectural Mustang is (R2.PF0), and so on.

(R9.55) Monarch Battleship (MNR) – The description says that 12 of the fighters are hybrid and 6 are carrier. The escort/fighter chart shows options of having 6 heavy fighters replacing 12 standard fighters. Hybrid fighters cannot be replaced by heavy fighters and there are not enough non-hybrid fighters. (Could say only 6 fighters count as hybrid in this case.) – Wyszynski 30 October 2015

(R9.86) Monarch-S Stellar Domination Ship (MNS) - “Each bay holds 12 fighters and three admin shuttles …” should be - “Each bay holds 9 fighters and three admin shuttles …” – Wyszynski 30 October 2015
(R9.207) Cavalier-X Advanced Technology Interdiction Carrier (CAVX) – The description says this ship has an oversized squadron, but half its fighters are heavy fighters. Heavy fighters cannot be in an oversized squadron. Perhaps counting the 9 X-Fighters as hybrid fighters and the heavy fighters as a standard sized squadron would work. Doing so would be in line with the MNV and MNS fighter groups without breaking the oversized squadron rules. – Wyszynski 30 October 2015

(R1.1-9) The starbase has text under its "carrier" listing that says "Note: The Hydrans cannot equip a base with hangar bay modules for fighters prior to Y157." The Hydrans have 'reporting names' for almost all of their ships. I do not recall seeing names for the WDD or YDD classes.
If they weren't named, may I suggest Armiger for the WDD and Squire for the YDD?
