Laszlo (KZI) versus captainron (ATC) got through 2 turns.
Turn 1, we go to range 4. He hits my #6 with the fist, 2/3 OLs, great phasers for 58 damage, killing a disruptor, drone, 2p3s, 5 power on 22 ints. My return fire on his #6 hit 3/4 OLs, getting 2 power, disr, p3, trac on 7 ints. Sensing no power for tractors left on me, he turns in. He hits my #2 for 16 damage with 3p3 and a std. I ding his #1 for 6, and his #2 for 15 with p3s.
I have 10 drones in flight, all speed-20. He tractors one, kills 1, and tries to juke the rest at speed 28, but miscalculates. Two drones hit his #3 for 24.
Turn 2, I circle back toward him. He goes 28, casts a single hex of web straight ahead, and flies through it, leading all the drones into it. He drops to 15, cruising next to the west wall. I increase to 20, and launch 3 more drones. I reach range 9 on his #5, and put 9 points of standard disruptor into it. He launches a couple shuttles and puts up a 2-hex snare between us.
We continue tomorrow.

Laszlo (KZI) versus captainron (ATC) got through 2 more turns.
Turn 3, he parks behind his snare and weasels off my drone wave. (I really wanted to blow up his weasel in his hex, but the web was in the way.) I close. I kill one of his shuttles with a tractor beam. I launch a drone toward the other one, and it fires at it, but it is a type-IV and is not destroyed. The drone was actually targeted at his ship, but I wanted the shuttle to fire at it because otherwise he would get on my down shield. I close at 14, and launch a couple shuttles. His fire control comes back up, so I launch another drone. At range 3, I hit his #1 with an OL and a p1, fearing his alpha. He doesn't fire, but instead launches a second weasel. I try to shoot it down in his hex to get collateral on the facing shield, but roll a '6' and fail to cripple it. I close to range 2, and then 1.
He fires, voiding his WW. He does 58 to my #1, killing a drone, disruptor, 2 p3s, and a bunch of power on 31 internals. I close to 0, and fire 2 OLs, 1 p1, 2 p3s, for 34, getting a snare, disruptor, p3, 3 p1s, and 2 warp on 16 internals. My feedback kills another drone rack and more power. Next impulse, I launch my drone. I wanted to hold it to force him to take internals on his p1s rather than his unfired p3s, but feared I would lose it. Good thing, too, because his p3 at me killed my last drone rack. (His other 2 kill the drone.) I fire my last p1, getting the minimum 4, hitting another snare. On 31, I exit his hex, and fire my last 2 p3s, doing 8 internals, getting a disr, 2 p3s, 3 power. On 32, my range 1 shuttles do 3 minimum damage - 3 internals through his #2, and taking down his #3. We end at range 2.
Turn 4, I park. He accelerates to 10 and moves off. I end up using two OLs to kill his last shuttle. He kills two of my shuttles and cripples another, and uses cast web to get turned around without giving me a down shield to shoot at.
At this point, I am crippled, with 20 power, 2 disruptors, 2 p1s, 6 p3s, #1 and #6 down, #2 at half.
He has 26 power, the WC, a disruptor, 4 p1s, and 2 p3s. His shields are at 12/0/0/27/18/0. His #1 is facing my #4 at range 8.
We continue next Monday.

Matt and I have got through 2 turns...
It's a maneuver game. He has lauched 2 turns of drones. I've launched my pack.
I have 8 damage to the 5
He has 9 to the 3 and 10 to the 5.
We are going to do 1hr sessions as I'm EST and he's PST and I need to be up at 4:30 am.
I'll keep everyone posted as we move along.

Turn 5, I accelerate to -9. He parks, keeping me on his 12-box #1. I head toward him with my undamaged #4 going -9/-7/-9/-4. He casts 5 hexes of web, I move into it, turning my #3 toward him. He accelerates to -4. I fire 2 p1s and an OL, doing 13 but finding a 10-point brick. He fires 5 p1s and an OL, missing with the OL, but doing 16. As he moves off, I fire the other OL, bringing his #1 down to 3 boxes. Eventually, the web dissipates, and I turn my #4 toward him.
Turn 6, he continues to retrograde away at -10/-9/-12. I chase after him at -7/-9. He puts 2 p1s into my #3, knocking it down to 2 boxes. I fire 2 p1s into his #1, doing a lousy 2 points of damage, which he blocks. I discharge two OLs.
At this point, I inform him that he has been parked or retrograding for two turns, and I remind him of the non-aggression rules.
Turn 7, he continues to retrograde away at -5/-4/-5. I chase after him at -6/-9, getting back inside range 8. I hit his #1 for 7 damage with 2 p1s, but he blocks it all.
At this point, I inform him he has been non-aggressive for 3 turns. If this continues, I will ask for adjudication.
Turn 8, he parks. I close at -9/-7/-9/-5. Finally, I centerline him at range 2. He announces a speed change to +4. I fire 2 p1s and 5 p3s at him, doing 23. After the 3 shield boxes and 10 point brick, I get 10 internals on him, including the web caster, last disruptor, p1, and 7 power. He fires the fist (which misses), the OL, and 5 p1s back at me, doing 6 internals, getting a disr, 2 p3s, and 3 power. He then HET away, and did 3 more internals with his p3s. I chased after him, trying to get my OL on one of his down shields, but he accelerated to 9, so I ended up firing it into his #4. Impulse 32, I turned off, and he turned as well, putting us at range 4 on the spine. My crippled shuttle fired at range 11, actually doing one internal, a phaser.
At this point, his shields are 0/0/0/17/18/0, but I am on his #4/#5 boundary. My shields are 0/14/2/0/24/0, and he his on my #1/#2 boundary. I have 16 power, a disr, 2 p1s, 4 p3s. He has 19 power, 4 p1s and a p3.

And just to show how the game can come down to some tiny little mistakes, after my shuttle managed to hit him at range 11, I noticed it was right on the hex row on the edge of his RX arc.
Which meant that he was able to take the phaser hit on one of his p3s. Which meant that he still has a phaser in arc, ready to fire on my down #1 on impulse 1.
Had my shuttle turned left instead of going straight, it would have been at range 12 (no difference in damage) but out of his RX, and that one internal would have hit the p1!

Turn 9, I park and put up 8 GSR to block his phaser 1. He goes 10/9/12, and shoots the phaser. He moves off a bit. My shuttle snipes at his down shield but misses. He reaches range 8 to the shuttle and dispatches it with a p1. He circles, keeping me on his #4 and #5. He shoots my #2 for 4 damage. I accelerate to 1 late, and we end at range 8.
Turn 10, I go 9/7/4/8, hoping to catch him on a shield boundary with a speed change. He parks. Closing doesn't look like a good idea, and I see an opportunity to shoot him at range 8, and then go to 9. My standard finds some reinforcement, and my p1s miss. He accelerates to -10. I'm screwed at this point. Basically, my options are to give him my down #4, my 2-box #3, or get closer and keep him on my 10-box #2. We circle in, and end the turn at range 2, where he puts 4 p1s and a p3 through my #2 for 11 more internals.
At this point, I'm down to 6 warp and 4 APR. I play a few impulses of turn 11, but he keeps me on his bricked #5. I fail to get through the shield, and concede before he blows me up.

This game came down to a few missed opportunities on my part, and him outmaneuvering me a little bit. Turn 8, I realized I could have gotten my OL disr on a down shield at range 3. Those 8 internals could have changed the game. I also missed out on potentially 4 internals that game because I powered a couple transporters (which I never used) instead of the last p3. I also missed 5 internals on him by failing to cripple his WW at range 2 with a p1. And so on. Toward the end, he just had more ship left than me, and failed to make any errors to let me catch back up.

Grraven (KLI) over Neonpico (WAX - HHBB)
I got totally outflown. Part of it was that I corner-dodged on turn 1 in order to hit him with two flights of drones over the turn break. He ducked inside of me and I ended up ejecting overloads on T2. On T4, I wiffed on both HBs. On T6, I anchored him, but he shot off my tractor - meaning my HBs would never get into arc.
After absorbing 70-some internals, I called the game. He left the field with 18 shield damage.

T1 Matt did corner dodge to get a wave built up. I left the Disr unpowered and put everything into speed to keep with him. My plan was high speed and maneuver around him, then try not to let him get into the FA again. End of the turn I launched the SP to break early T2
T2 we danced in the top left corner. I charged 2 ovl went moderate speed and dealt with more drones. I used my p1's offensively and the others for defense plus the ADD. He flew through my SP tractoring 2 and shooting down 3 but 1 did manage to hit his #3, this turned out to be important later on.
T3 He burst into the center with me in hot pursuit!Early in the turn I used my HET to get behind him facing the proper way. I charged 1 ovl and used phasers to break through the #5 that I had hit on T1. I hit 2 phaser 3's a drone rack 3 warp and a cargo. sometime in the turn he launched another wave of drones and turned south.
T4 He started off facing D then swung around to the left. I turned inside him to try and get below the FA once he started back north. Didn't quite get there and he fired both HB, 1std/1ovl and rolled an 11/12. I didn't charge disruptors this turn.
T5 We are 6 hexes apart I'm on his #4 both facing A. I had 2 thoughts going into this turn. 1st was does he stop and tac? or continue to run away at high speeds. I opted for the latter and plotted high speed to cut him off once he got to the top. He raced north then turned to B then to C going sp30/31 the entire turn. I managed to stay with him and ended turn 5 at range 1 on his #3 which had 1 box left. On imp25 he launched 4 drones at me which I was able to counter by launching my drones on 28 and using phasers on the remaining drone. When he turned to D late turn he launched his last drone of the turn. Imp 32 I killed that drone with a P1 and shot 4 P1's and 2 p2's into him doing 28 internals
T6, I know I'm going to see 4 drones on 6.1 so plot speed 16 with changes down to move when the drones will to be able to counter them. I also charged both tractors and expect him to anchor me.
On 6.1 he does tractor me which I don't fight. He launches the drones and I shoot 4 ovl disr and a p3 for 44 internals. I kill the tractor about halfway through the DAC rolls and afterwards Matt conceded.
Overall Matt played well his dice did bite him T4 which kept my ship from taking any damage. This really put him behind the curve in the maneuver game.

Hey! I think this is a thing that needs to start being thought about again!
I checked, and last year, my first message on World League was on May 18. Which, today being May 18, means I'm right on time!
Are folks into this this year? Do I have enthusiasm? Do we wanna change anything in particular? Some folks really like the draft aspect (I like the draft, myself), some have pointed out that the way I have been doing it might result in uneven teams--I have been doing A, B, C, D, D, C, B, A, which might result in team A having a weaker team than team D.
Ideas? Opinions?
