Ok, I distinctly remember seeing a Storm Eagle somewhere. This is just a War Eagle that has 2xPl-S instead of a Pl-R. This is not the Regent Eagle from CL39S, as that is the KE version. This is also not the sublight Storm Bird from Y2 or Y3. Does anyone remember what it is from?

Or did I just make up the memory because of the Storm Bird?

If it does exist, what is its designation, as "SE" is already taken by the Scout Eagle.

Question on Tholian command modules and rear hulls. Are the 10 shield boxes per (G12.92) part of the rear hull or are they only allowed with detached?

The NBB shield #1 is 68, (and 45 for shields 2 to 6). Is the rear hull 58 when detached from the command module and any collars?

Under (G12.92) the Command Module can raise its shields a turn after it detaches:

"It can erect shields of ten boxes after 32 impulses."

Under (G12.93) the presence or absence of the command module has no effect on the strength of the shields of the rear hull:

"The shields are never dropped or reduced."

This latter is further verified by the rear hull SSDs for the Neo-Tholian battleship, Neo-Tholian heavy cruiser, and Neo-Tholian light cruiser in Module D3, and by the rear hull SSDs for the Neo-Tholian destroyer and Neo-Tholian frigate in Module C3.

Thanks Ken, I guess I was combining the "R4.A20 Regent Eagle" with the Royalbird and Stormbird from Y3 or Y4 and just assuming there was a "Storm Eagle" somewhere.

I couldn't find any errata on this, but in G3 the Fed CVA BPV is 222/200

And in Module J SSD book it's 172/150

I'm guessing the 200 is right (but wanted to be sure), as there is R2.x errata that includes the CVA having incorrect shield #4 but doesn't mention the point value.

May depend on how old your Module J SSD book is. The lower BPV was for the original "flatbed" Federation Carrier, and the higher BPV is for the new version that is a variant of the Dreadnought that was created so that the Federation could convert dreadnoughts into CVAs in Federation & Empire.

We just have not run out of Module J SSD books, so we have not done a new printing.

No worries. Hopefully soon, I anxiously await any new books (especially SSD) to make it to PDF. I've bought what I can through Drive Through RPG, I already own physical copies of everything but I will re-purchase it all digitally as new things become available.

These days I do as much prep for battles as I can on my computer, and try to (if possible) limit forces to things in E-books, I note on what pages of the PDF the ships I need are, and I head over to Fed-Ex/Kinkos with a USB drive to print at a self-serve station. So much easier and more convenient than bringing a bunch of SSD books in with me!

includes its administrative shuttles, but does not (ever!) include
mines, fighters, MRS shuttles, SWACS, or PFs.

(R2.95) LIGHT DREADNOUGHT CARRIER (DVL):

When available, this ship was provided with a SWAC shuttle, this is included in the BPV and the BPV is not reduced if the SWAC is not present.

I assume that (R2.95) is correct (since it is specific to a single ship) but that "(ever!)" makes me question it, and I just wanted to confirm my assumption.
