I, too, was likely involved in some of the X2 teeth kicking. I pretty much agree with everything Shawn said. I trust ADB will make a great product and I will buy it. Period. I may have opinions on design decisions but this will not affect my buying.
My main thing is I want X2 to be playable all by itself and "feel" like these ships are advanced and have different dynamics than just playing General War or X1 era.
Said another way, I want X2 to feel different on its own and not only seem different when playing against previous generation ships.
SVC has said nothing to the contrary but I don't know that I've articulated my thoughts very well other than wrinkling my nose a little at the 50%/200% paradigm.
Please make X2!!

This really isn't the topic to discuss the 50/200 paradigm (so I won't) but the reasons for it are in the X2 topic if anyone wants to know. (Short form: anything else is just a bigger SSD with more boxes on the original movement cost. If you want an X2 ship that is not 50/200 then just take any SSD and double every box.) I would respectfully suggest any further discussion of 50/200 go to the X2 topic.

To me, what is important is *that* X-2 get done. Let SVC do his design job, as whatever he ends up doing is likely going to be his all new original work with *maybe* a smorgasbord of ideas floated by the fans and modified by SVC.
Personally, what I want most is for the SFU history to be finally fleshed out from it's early Y inceptions to the "futuristic" X-2 area. The story arc is what interests me. The ships can be made to fit the arc.

[problem solved]
| By Ginger McMurray (Gingermcmurray) on Saturday, November 12, 2022 - 09:18 am: Edit |
Dear ADB,
Whatever the next module is, please make it a PDF as well. It makes it so much easier to feed my addiction with instant gratification. :-)
Sincerely,
Ginger

Ginger, IIRC the problem is that if they release ANYTHING in digital form it gets uploaded somewhere immediately and they have to spend inordinate time chasing the pirates.

All the last modules have had digital releases..

We have pirate hunters to keep things down to a low roar. We have released all recent modules PDF, often first.

How many "cargo tugs" do you have going around with panels hiding their battle pods?
| By Mike West (Mjwest) on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 - 08:47 am: Edit |
I am sure most of these pirate hunters prefer to think of themselves as fast raiders, not bloated and sluggish battle tugs or Q-ship freighters.

The hunters are raiders. Disguised tugs would be viruses uploaded to the pirate websites with names like SFB_Module_C1.pdf.
