It has been suggested that a series of "Omega Campaign Modules" could be created, each covering three geographically related empires. Each module would expand the available ships to include the various campaign types and classes, such as bases and X-ship. These would be done by outside designers to some kind of specifications supervised by ADB and released as PDF modules and later as printed books (probably without counters).

One solution would be to buy an old copy of Freehand cheap somewhere. Another would be to find a relatively inexpensive graphics program that we all use and I try to convince Leanna to buy it for me.

Omega Campaign Modules is interesting. I am not computer savvy, however I would like to get into doing SSDs to submit for new projects if possible (I would probably need a better computer). I do not know what the cost of a graphics program would be.

Seriously, tell me a few graphics programs that will do the job and what they cost and we'll see what can be done. It's a matter of meeting in the middle; we never expected you guys to go buy 20 year old Macs.

I reinstalled two open source, cross-platform graphic design programs, GIMP and Inkscape. Both are free downloads.
Inkscape will save as vector files (.svg), but I am really out of practice using these. If I can make either one work for me, I can try to send something through again.

Eazydraw is a Mac compatable program. I've redone Omega 1 and Omega 2 SSD's with that program.

Well, it seems that people selling on eBay have copies Macromedia Freehand available in various editions. I may invest if another solution cannot be found.

SVC, I apologize for not thinking of this sooner but are you able to modify PDF files? I do not know what the limitations on Illustrator or any program that can modify Illustrator files are.

I don’t have a way to modify PDFs.

And editing a PDF runs back into the problem of it's not a vector graphics program, so the kind of editing that is entailed in creating and modifying an SSD is very cumbersome.

There is a solution but I need Leanna to work it out and she's buried in mail orders. This will keep until she has a chance to help me find which possible solution works best.
