New Master Tournament Topic.

SO I had suggested a Masters last year during the height of the Apocalypse.
We can use this thread until we get one made specifically.
So yeah,
Info is in the Header above. We can tweak ships etc.
If it's 8 we can make a tree without bothering PF. We are all cagey veterans.
I will play if we need to round out the tree, I can judge if needs be, but again, cagey veterans

If I can get final NOT selections asap I'll make a tree.

I don't think we need Time limits as we are all consummate professionals, other than to say, we may want to shoot to be done by mid-May when the Sapphire games start.

Since there are only 8 players in the tree, I think we can do some voting on not carrying a few ships. This will make it more likely that we see something like the VuDaR or the FED CF crop up
IE maybe one Lyran, one ROM, one FED, one Tholian, not do the Andro etc. Just a thought...

I would completely drop the Andromedan. Forever and ever if we could. The KE and KR lead to very long games, makes sense to drop them even though I think the KR is a very good ship. The Seltorian is pretty futile and so will probably end up in the final if we allow it, so let's not please. The Neo-Tholian isn't going to win this thing either so deleting it sounds good. I don't think keeping the LDR hurts but if others want it out that is cool with me.

There are two Tholians (NTC, ATC), 3 Romulans (TFH, TKR, TKE), 2 Lyrans (TCC, LDR), 2 WYN (GBS, AUX), the SEL, and AND, and then probably the VUD.

Oh, huh, I dunno. I'm not in charge here. And I missed Andy's note on ships.

Now that I see Andy's note, yeah, I'd only leave out the TKE and maybe the Neo Tholian (just 'cause the ATC is just better; or have the "Tholian" be a single ship for distribution, and if someone ends up in a Tholian, they have a 50-50 chance of either, rather than having the Tholian be two separate ships. Do the same thing with the TFH/TKR (and remove TKE, as it blows).

I like the Vudar; it is interesting and not real difficult to understand.

I'm not at all interested in the Fed CF, especially now that the PTB have okay'ed the Fed+G-Rack, so I'd really like to see more focus on that.

I'm in favor of the current (2TRH/3 btty) Andro, as I'd still like to see it fight something other than the Fed (which is the only thing it has fought in the last couple tournaments :-)

I personal think all the sanction ships should be in for one reason, you never get everyone to agree and it will take 6 weeks to get this started. I thought we pick our 1st ship? The winner gets the losers ship the next round. easy

From what I remember the TCF was a much better all round ship. The little I remember from my game vs the Klingon and I think Peter was playing the Klingon. It did very well!

the point was we have way more ships than players.
I wanted to pare it down and have everyone fly something they thought might be fun. Hence the Vudar or the CF
It's not playtesting. It's not sanctioned, its a lark. But you're right. I'll just include what I think is best to get this underway.

I'll construct a tree today. No one will know what I didn't include and what just didn't show up ion the randomizer.
