KING ALPHA starships possess 3 Heavy Weapons and utilize only PH-C's and PH-P's for Phasers. All Known Technology (Both Historical and Non-Historical, Simulator and Real) is drawn from for this purpose. With this unusual Design Paradigm, King Alpha Ships are not balanced against Alpha Sector Ships (and should not be played against them), but King Alpha Ships should be balanced against each other as much as possible.

ARCH OMEGA is a Unique Galaxy that uses Quantum Transporters for Movement (No Warp), Ceramic Composite Armor (No Shields), and Transporter Collector Cannons (Similar to Hypercannons) as Primary Weapons. Omega Weapons (including Original Omega Range Brackets and Overload Ranges), Omega Devices, and Omega Phasers (including Original Omega Range Brackets) are Secondary Weapons in Arch Omega. New Technology is introduced as well on a case-by-case New Empire Basis.

Given the highly unusual Design Paradigm of Arch Omega, it should be clear that Arch Omega starships should not be flown against the Alpha Sector or even the Original Omega Sector.

The BURNSIDE TERRITORIES seek to Balance Module C5 against the Alpha Sector by Deleting Inner/Outer Shields, Magellanic Sensors/Scanners, the Volley Reduction Factor, Warp Tuned Lasers, the BANK System, and the Different Magellanic Range Brackets. In their place are Revised Magallenic Weapons/Devices, Standard Alpha Sector Shields, and PH-1/2/3/4's.

OMEGA UNDER SIEGE is a new galaxy that developed similar to the Omega Sector. However, a Huge Invasion Force attacked All the Empires at Once, forcing them to build Monstrous Warships with Strange and Different Omega Technology. One of the ideas was to explore Possible Avenues for the Advancement of Omega Technology without resorting to Advanced Technology.

Given the Design Paradigm, Omega Under Siege was not meant to be Balanced in Any Way, Even Against Itself.

For this reason, Omega Under Siege will No Longer Be Supported or Developed. While the Galaxy Premise is Intriguing, it is Nearly Impossible to have Balanced Tactical Engagements with it. Sure, it can be a lot of Fun, but Tactics is what SFB is About.

VERSION 2.0 is a New Galaxy that sought to Expand SFB Rules and provide New Options for SFB with the Intent of generating New Tactical Games never seen before. There are some interesting ideas here, but the First SSD turned out Too Cumbersome.

I may revisit Version 2.0 in the future and Revise the whole thing, but for now, Version 2.0 will not be Supported or Developed Further.

The INTERGALACTIC ASSEMBLAGE OF SYSTEMS is a Massive, Massive Organization that Spans Many, Many Galaxies. The High Guard Serve and Protect the Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems. Since there are so many Member Galaxies, the Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems ranges in Technology from Early Years to Middle Years to General War to X1 Advanced Technology to X2 Advanced Technology (and perhaps Beyond). Obviously, given this Broad Design Paradigm, Starships from the Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems are not meant to Balanced Against Each Other, the Alpha Sector, or the Omega Sector. Instead, in terms of Gameplay, they exist to take part in High Guard Scenarios.

The PRIME SECTOR takes All Existing Published Technology and presents it in New and Different Ways. Prime Sector Heavy Cruisers (and All Future Ship Classes) are Smaller than Standard Heavy Cruisers. New Technology will be added to each New Prime Sector Empire on a Case-by-Case Basis. It is of extreme importance that Prime Sector Starships be Balanced Against Other and Prime Sector Empires be Balanced Against Each Other.

I have put a lot of time and effort into the Prime Sector and plan to develop it further in the future.

THE GRAND SECTOR
Link to the Grand Sector

The GRAND SECTOR is a New Galaxy that utilizes the Alpha Sector Design Paradigm. The Grand Sector will feature All New Phasers, All New Heavy Weapons and Devices, All New Drones, and All New Plasmas. The Grand Sector will follow the same Ship Class Hierarchy as the Alpha Sector. There will be an Established Balance (Militarily, Economically, Technologically, etc.) to the Grand Sector as a whole and an Ever Escalating Arms Race by each of the Empires. A Neutral Zone (which may have a Different Name) will separate the Established Empires.

Grand Sector Starships will use Standard Shields and Warp Drive.

Grand Sector Starships will, in general, be slightly less powerful and slightly smaller than their Alpha Sector Counterparts. This is just a necessary part of the Design Process. For example, if a PL-F can score up to 20 points of damage, the Grand Sector Plasma equivalent might score only 15 points of damage.

One concept I am considering for the Grand Sector is the ability to Underload a Heavy Weapon. This will be a energy cost saving feature. There may be tactical moments during the battle when a Standard or Overload Shot is not needed. Instead of wasting energy, a Grand Sector Captain can instead opt to Underload their Heavy Weapon, scoring less damage, but utilizing less energy.

The First SSD for the Grand Sector is currently being worked on.

THE IRONCLAD GALAXY
Link to the Ironclad Galaxy

The IRONCLAD GALAXY is a New Galaxy featuring Low Tech Space Faring Starships that are often at war. These slow moving starships will use a different type of propulsion other than Warp Drive, although the game mechanics will be very similar. They will not use Phasers, but different types of ranged weapons. Heavy Weapons and Devices will vary from empire to empire. Ironclad starships won't use Shields, but instead some other form of armored protection.

Clearly, this galaxy is inspired by the Real Life Ironclads of the American Civil War.

One thing I want to incorporate into the Ironclad Galaxy is Limited Ammunition. In particular, this will apply to the weapons that replace Phasers. So instead of being able to fire your Phasers the entire game as much as you want, you must tactically choose when and where you want to fire so you don't waste all your ammunition on unnecessary shots. The same will apply for any Drone-like or Plasma-like weapons.

Ironclad starships will most likely use different Power Sources, although the game mechanics behind them will probably be very similar to Warp, Impulse, and APR. I haven't yet decided about Batteries and Reserve Power for the Ironclad Galaxy.

The Ironclad Galaxy is still in the Conceptual Stage at this point. The First SSD is not quite ready to be worked on yet, but hopefully will be in the near future.

WHITE WOLF - STARDATE 11.03.21
Link to previous White Wolf logs

"Lupa, Damage Report!!"

The beautiful young Avatar with silver hair and light grey eyes appeared like a ghost. Despite the dire situation, she was calm and without emotion.

"Captain, I'm in bad shape. The last Hyper Plasma Cannon blast from the Deathbringer Warclad designated Scythe tore through my Second Shield, my Neutronium Armor, and my Seventh Shield. I've lost half of my Quantum Batteries, nearly all of my Research Laboratories, Forward Hull, Emergency Command, Cargo, Fabrication, Barracks, Repair, half of my Quantum Impulse, both Probes, Aft Hull, one third of my Skip Warp, over half of my Z-Phasers, one Plasma-ZF, and two Quantum Torpedoes. Damage Control is underway and my Seventh Shield is already restoring itself automatically."

Captain Ichaborn hissed, cursing his tactical situation. The skeletal Albino with blood red eyes found himself hating his newfound existence among the High Guard. What good is a powerful, highly advanced starship when there are more dreaded creatures lurking in the night?

"Return fire with every available weapon!! Target Deathbringer Scythe! New Heading 112 Mark 82. Engage Skip Warp for 120,000 kilometers and then activate Quantum Transporters. Transport portside 20,000 kilometers. That should buy us enough time for the Seventh Shield to rebuild itself."

The White Wolf did as she was instructed, launching one Plasma-ZF, two Quantum Torpedoes, and her remaining Z-Phasers. The assault punctured the Scythe's Armor, scoring minimal internals, but the Deathbringer Armor immediately began to regenerate.

The White Wolf danced away after the barrage, blinking like a firefly in the night as it used its Skip Warp to escape. Then it disappeared and reappeared a short distance away.

The battle with the Deathbringers had gone exactly opposite to what Ichaborn had desired. First, the three Deathbringer Warclads had arrived before Ichaborn could communicate his strategy to the five other Captains. Instead of a unified offense, they fractured into a separated defense.

The Stupendemys Geographicus was the first to fall. Used to taking the brunt of an attack and surviving, the Giant Space Turtle rushed toward the three Deathbringers. Sadly, this tactic would not work against them. Two Hyper Plasma Cannons hit the living beast at the same time, ravaging its body from two different directions. The Turtle's mighty shell cracked in half from the intense power. Within seconds, the Giant Creature was slain.

The Templar Early Cruiser was next. Reliant on its Photon Lance, the Templar had to get close to be effective. The Deathbringers did not even waste their Hyper Plasma Cannons on the quaint vessel. All three Deathbringers concentrated their Phaser fire on the Templar, slicing through its forward Shield and cutting it to pieces.

The Dethan, Glassfire, and Sylvan starships tried to stay afar, firing their long range weapons from a distance to wear down the Deathbringers. The Dethan used her rapid-firing Photon Cannon, the Glassfire employed her Firebolts, and the Sylvan fired her Boomerang Torpedoes, trying to hit the Deathbringer Warclads from behind. Unfortunately, the three starships soon found themselves the targets of massive Deathbringer Drones that were protected by the same Self-Regenerating Armor that the Warclads were protected by. They were unable to stop the Giant Drones, resulting in their own destruction.

The White Wolf attempted to use Viral Warfare on the Deathbringers, hoping to confuse their systems and force them to fire at each other. But the Deathbringers were prepared for this tactic. They had special equipment installed which nullified the Viral Warfare attempt. The Deathbringers have long hated the High Guard and all they represent.

This left the White Wolf, a lone High Guard Z-Ship, with direct combat as its only option. But even as the White Wolf scored damage with its highly advanced weaponry, the Deathbringer Armor began to instantly heal itself. Quickly, the battle went against the White Wolf.

"Captain, we must withdraw," Lupa's holographic image said in a calm, but stern voice. Her silver hair blew behind her as if from a strong breeze.

"I can't do that!!" Captain Ichaborn shrieked in response. "That would give the Deathbringers complete access to the Autumnstar System. Billions of innocent people will Die!"

"They will die anyway, Captain. This battle is lost. Sacrificing the White Wolf will not serve any purpose. You will simply throw away every life on board this ship. It is my duty as the Ship's A.I. to point this out. We must withdraw."

Ichaborn lamented his Fate once again. His inner soul twisted and writhed in torment. Not only was he responsible for the Fall of the Celestial Fellowship of Galaxies, but now he would have to carry the burden of the entire Autumnstar System and all the lives contained within. Surely, if anyone was Cursed during their lifetime, it was He.

Was it the Intergalactic Assemblage of System's fault for patching together such a meager fleet at the last moment? Was it the fault of Intelligence for not providing accurate information about the foes they would be facing? Was it anyone's fault except Ichaborn himself?

"Take us away from here," Ichaborn said to Lupa in a regretful, defeated, low voice. He motioned with his frail, bone white hand and then closed his eyes. He tried to tell himself that what was about to happen to the Autumnstar System was not his fault. That it was not he who had forced the Deathbringers to become cold, merciless killers who hated everything that lived. But the words he heard from himself were hollow and of little comfort.

His blood red eyes narrowed.

I will return with a High Guard Armada. I will bring Death to the Deathbringers themselves.

I WILL MAKE YOU PAY A THOUSANDFOLD FOR EACH LIFE THAT YOU CRUELLY TOOK.

U.S.S. EXODUS - STARDATE 11.06.21
Link to previous U.S.S. Exodus logs

Captain Moshe entered the neutral Meeting Chamber alongside Admiral Ramesse and Captain Jochebed. Together, the trio represented the United League of Worlds. All the major empires of Sector Zero were present, many of whom have fought war after war with one another. They have been gathered together in this peaceful, non-violent location by a mysterious, old figure called the Engineer. Sector Zero was Dying. This Joint Commission was the only chance to save Sector Zero's culture, technology, biology, and history.

After a brief round of introductions and greetings, the Joint Commission got right down to business.

"As we all know, the closest habitable systems are hundreds of years away from Sector Zero," the Engineer stated in a weary, old voice. "It has already been decided upon in previous meetings that all empires present will pool their remaining resources to construct a Massive Fleet capable of completing this long journey."

Admiral Ramesse stated, "The United League of Worlds was the pioneer in Tractor Repulsor technology. We developed the first Prototypes that each of you has incorporated into your respective empires. Now, for the purposes of this survival mission, we offer a more Advanced Version of the Prototype Tractor Repulsor Beam. This new version is capable of generating destructive force far greater than our Phasers. However, they do require more energy."

The Daemon who was currently possessing a human host spoke next. His eyes glowed red. "The Daemons have been working with the Robot Expansion. We will supply a host of Spirit Daemons who will possess and inhabit the bodies of mass produced Synthetic Clones."

Robot X4J29375TN13110PZ194W concurred with the Daemon Representative. "Yes. The Robot Expansion has been working on the mass production of Synthetic Clones. These Synthetic Clones can be grown on board our Survival Fleet as they make the long journey. The Daemons are free to possess the majority of these Clones, but some of them will possess Robot Intelligence that has been downloaded into their Brains. Additionally, in order to further bolster the crews of our Survival Fleet, we will mass manufacture robots to fill every role aboard our vessels."

A human-sized Sentient Plant with various yellow flowers added, "The Spore Synthesis is willing to contribute our unique Displacement Technology to our Survival Fleet. It may be challenging to Displace such large starships, but our Engineers are confident they can successfully accomplish this before Sector Zero completely collapses. They will also ensure that the Fleet is outfitted with the same Absorber Panels we all use."

A short humanoid wearing a full body suit, gauntlets, helmet, and a visor stepped forward. "The Space Builders have been a part of Sector Zero from its inception. We are the ones who built our Vast Transit Network that crisscrosses all over Sector Zero, allowing ultra fast travel from one location to another. We will encode that building information and planning into the master database on the Survival Fleet. That way, when they finally arrive at their target system to settle, they will be able to quickly construct their own Transit Network to aid them in their endeavors."

A strange Mother-like figure continued the conversation in a soft voice. She was two to three times the size of a normal human and looked pregnant. "The Genetic Matriarchy is well known for our Satellites and Motherships. We will work with the Fleet Constructors so that the Fleet Starships also have this design. That way, each Satellite will be well protected within the Mothership until she decides to deploy them. Additionally, the Fleet's true numbers will be constantly hidden as the Motherships will always be carrying an unseen quantity of Satellite Ships within them."

An Artificial Brain with many glowing lights projected a strange voice for all to hear. "It is possible during this long, long voyage, that all organic life forms aboard the Survival Fleet may perish. If that happens, we cannot allow our vital mission to end. We cannot allow our very existence and all memories of us, to fade away into oblivion. Therefore, it is imperative that we, the Artificial Intelligence Consciousness, create an Evolving Master Artificial Intelligence that can assume command of all Motherships in the event of an unforeseen emergency. That Continually Evolving A.I. will be able to preserve the Survival Fleet and continue the mission, even if all organic life forms have unexpectedly died."

An imposing four-armed warrior carrying many weapons stared at the Artificial Brain for a moment. Then he spoke in a loud, arrogant voice. "The War Mongers have ever been the best tacticians and strategists in Sector Zero. It is more than likely that our Survival Fleet will encounter hostile empires on its lengthy journey to find a new home. It is imperative that our Fleet be able to defend itself, and, if it is tactically sound, to attack and conquer enemy targets. This includes the ability of some of the proposed...Satellite Ships...to conduct reconnaissance, scouting, and assessment missions. Vulnerable targets in enemy territory can then be identified and marked for future assaults. Disruptions of logistics and supply chains is also critical to gaining the upper hand. We will work with the Artificial Intelligence Consciousness to program the sum of our war knowledge into its database, so that it can draw from that experience as necessary for combat situations."

A solid red ghostly figure floated high above the floor for everyone to see. It spoke in an eerie, unearthly voice. "The Phantom Presence has been experimenting with a powerful new technology. This new technology draws all the available energy from the Engines, Batteries, Impulse, and Reactors, and channels it into a single burst of extreme power. While deadly, this new weapon is very limited in range and targeting. We will also work with the Artificial Intelligence Consciousness and the Space Builders so that future Satellite Ships which are built while en route are able to field this powerful, new weapon."

Captain Moshe became very concerned with the new direction the conversation was taking. He leaned close to Admiral Ramesse and whispered, "Admiral, may I have permission to speak?"

Admiral Ramesse looked at Captain Moshe with great interest. "Of course. That is why I asked you to accompany me. Please...speak your thoughts."

Captain Moshe stepped forward to address the entire Joint Commission. Everyone present grew quiet as they waited to hear what he had to say.

"I want to be clear. This Massive Fleet we are building...this Survival Fleet, as you call it...is of a Peaceful Nature, correct? It is not our intention to create any kind of...Invasion Force, correct? We want to find a New Home to Settle, not find a New Galaxy to Conquer. Many of our empires have not seen eye to eye, resulting in endless wars. But, as all of you well know, it is not the way of the United League of Worlds to claim new territory by force. It is not our way to attack those weaker than ourselves. We should not be scouting out enemy territory in the shadows and then stabbing them in the back with a surprise attack."

Captain Moshe glared at the four armed War Monger Representative. The Representative simply grinned.

"In short, how can we be sure, over the course of this extremely long and arduous journey, that our Survival Fleet, which will possess extremely advanced and evolving Artificial Intelligence, will not become a merciless, aggressive, conquering force? We are not building warships. We are trying to save our culture, our history, and the essence of who we are in Sector Zero. What if our Survival Fleet...at the completion of their extended journey...obliterates innocent and peaceful inhabitants in our new Home System? We must ensure that this Never occurs!!"

The War Mongers glanced at the Daemon Representative and the Phantom Presence Representative. They all had wicked looks on their faces.

"You must have faith in our Joint Commission, Captain Moshe," the War Monger Representative said sarcastically while waving his four open hands about in front of him. "Is not our very presence here, which has never taken place before between our warring empires, a testament to our peaceful nature? Does not that alone demonstrate our good intentions? All I am suggesting is that our Survival Fleet be able to defend itself, if necessary. We don't want our entire civilization to be destroyed en route simply because we didn't equip our Fleet with any weapons, do we? Let us trust in the judgement of the Evolving Artificial Intelligence that we will install. It will be able to determine right from wrong. Of course, it will not attack a helpless star system full of innocent beings. After all, the last thing we want to create is..."

AN INVADING FLEET CAPABLE OF DISRUPTING AND SYSTEMATICALLY ELIMINATING EVERY EMPIRE IN A WHOLE NEW GALAXY.

DAEMON SPACE SUBMARINE SSD
Link to the Daemon Space Submarine SSD

SECTOR ZERO

DAEMON SHIPS
(SZR2.1) SPACE SUBMARINE (SS):

The Daemon Space Submarine was primarily used to sow chaos and wreak havoc behind enemy lines. Using its Cloak to slip past border defenses, the Daemon Space Submarine would select isolated, vulnerable targets and unleash its powerful Plasma-R Torpedo. Once the surprise attack was completed, the Daemon Space Submarine would again Cloak, using its invisibility to return back to Daemon Space.

Daemon Space Submarines were also greatly feared by other empires because they would hunt in Wolf Packs of three or more. These Wolf Packs would ambush lone starships, Decloaking in surprise. Typically, the unprepared starship would be destroyed, as it would not be able to withstand the combined assault of multiple Plasma-R Torpedoes.

DESIGNER NOTES:

The Daemon Space Submarine was based on the Romulan War Eagle, but the design had to be converted into Sector Zero Standards. Obviously, Power Absorbers replaced Shields, Batteries were upgraded to Sector Zero (Andromedan) Levels, and Phaser-1's were downgraded to Phaser-2's. But other changes were forced to take place during this process as well. In the end, the Daemon Space Submarine ended up with more Armor to supplement its Power Absorbers, more Warp Power, more Overall Internals, and Less Maneuverability expressed as a worse Turn Mode and a higher Chance of Breakdown. Lastly, all Daemon ships needed an additional rule which would handle their unique "biology" during Boarding Party Combat.

DAEMON SSF SPACE SUBMARINE SSD
Link to the Daemon SSF Space Submarine SSD

SECTOR ZERO

DAEMON SHIPS
(SZR2.2) SPACE SUBMARINE (SSF):

The Daemon SSF Space Submarine was a common variant seen on the field of combat. Although the replacement of a single Plasma-R Torpedo with two Plasma-F Torpedoes resulted in slightly less overall damage, it did allow the SSF to engage more than one target at once. This capability became especially important when engaging Fighters and Fast Patrol Ships, as well as during Fleet Engagements.

The Daemon SSF Space Submarine was rarely sent behind enemy lines to disrupt logistics. They were too valuable for other missions involving multiple, smaller adversaries.

DESIGNER NOTES:

The Daemon SSF Space Submarine was an obvious variant of the Daemon Space Submarine. However, the overall purpose of the design had to be kept in mind to determine the ship's purpose in production. It made sense that trading a single large weapon for two smaller weapons would result in an advantage when engaging Fighters and Fast Patrol Ships. However, this would change the role of the SSF from the original Space Submarine purpose of attacking behind enemy lines to more of a support, escort-type of role.

DAEMON SSTR SPACE SUBMARINE SSD
Link to the Daemon SSTR Space Submarine SSD

SECTOR ZERO

DAEMON SHIPS
(SZR2.3) SPACE SUBMARINE (SSTR):

The Daemon SSTR Space Submarine was a test vessel for the Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams which were discovered by the United League of Worlds and quickly circulated throughout all of Sector Zero. The forward Phasers were removed from a standard Daemon Space Submarine and replaced with a pair of Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams. Countless tests were then performed to determine efficiency, range, power requirements, damage output, targeting, failure rate, and more in regards to the Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams. The design ultimately proved to be a failure because the Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams proved to be less functional that the original Phasers (although they did possess greater range).

There were only Two Daemon SSTR Space Submarines known to exist, although the Daemon may have had more secretly hidden from Enemy Intelligence.

DESIGNER NOTES:

The Daemon SSTR Space Submarine was an obvious variant of the Daemon Space Submarine, but only for Sector Zero due to the existence of Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams (discovered and developed by the United League of Worlds). However, this uncommon variant would have been extremely rare, and almost never allowed to participate in fleet combat (and certainly never in direct one-on-one combat). This was due to the cost and experimental nature of the design. While overall damage was decreased in comparison to the Phaser-2's they replaced, the Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams possessed greater range, which was an advantage in specific tactical situations.

DAEMON SSCV SPACE SUBMARINE SSD
Link to the Daemon SSCV Space Submarine SSD

SECTOR ZERO

DAEMON SHIPS
(SZR2.4) SPACE SUBMARINE (SSCV):

The Daemon SSCV Space Submarine was a rare variant used to transport a squadron of Fighters behind enemy lines. These Fighters would vastly increase the Daemon Space Submarine's firepower, allowing it to destroy larger, more heavily protected targets. The Daemon Space Submarine's Center Hull was converted into a makeshift Hanger.

The first Fighters carried by the SSCV were the Daemon Fear-I Fighters. The SSCV would carry more advanced Fighters as they were developed.

Due to the cost and limited quantity of Fighters in Daemon Fleets, the SSCV was seldom utilized.

DESIGNER NOTES:

The Daemon SSCV Space Submarine was an unusual variant of the Daemon Space Submarine. The intent here was not just to create a variant that carried Fighters, but for the SSCV to have a mission purpose. Transporting Fighters behind enemy lines using the Cloak made perfect sense, since other empires with carriers do not have a Cloak to strategically employ. This makes the SSCV particularly deadly, because it can appear when you least expect, in an unprotected rear area, with a squadron of Fighters. Additionally, once the target has been demolished, the SSCV can retrieve its Fighters, Cloak, and then escape back to Daemon Territory with them.

DAEMON CSS SPACE SUBMARINE SSD

SECTOR ZERO

DAEMON SHIPS
(SZR2.5) SPACE SUBMARINE (CSS):

The Daemon CSS Space Submarine was a rare variant which could hold an increased number of Daemon Marines. These Marines would be transported behind enemy lines using the Cloak. The target was carefully preselected to ensure it would be vulnerable to Boarding Actions. Once the target's shield was knocked down (by the Daemon Space Submarine's Plasma-R Torpedo and Phasers), the CSS would begin transporting its numerous Marines over to the target. Often, these Daemon Marines would overwhelm the weakened target, allowing the Daemon to capture the target as their own.

DESIGNER NOTES:

The Daemon CSS Space Submarine is the Commando Variant of the Space Submarine. The Daemon would need to have good reason to transport so many Marines. Striking behind enemy lines using the Cloak provided the justification, but Marines can do something that pure firepower cannot. They can successfully Capture targets. This alone makes the creation of Commando Space Submarines a viable option, but it also leads to another line of thought. The Daemons would have to be able to hold onto the Captured target or transport it back to Daemon Space. If the CSS is behind enemy lines with the Captured target, this will not be an easy feat. The successful use of the Daemon CSS Space Submarine, therefore, depended on the tight coordination and execution of other Daemon Units (also Cloaked) who would assist the CSS to complete its mission.

UNITED LEAGUE OF WORLDS HEAVY CRUISER PLUS

SECTOR ZERO

UNITED LEAGUE OF WORLDS SHIPS
(SZR1.2) HEAVY CRUISER PLUS (CA+):

The United League of Worlds Heavy Cruiser Plus was one of the most advanced starships prior to the Collapse of Sector Zero. It was exceeded only by the experimentation with Advanced Technology at the end of the Sector Zero Timeline.

The United League of Worlds Heavy Cruiser Plus upgraded the Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beams to fully functional Heavy Tractor-Repulsor Beams once that technology was stabilized. Additionally, all Forward Phaser-2's were upgraded to Phaser-1's, something previously unseen before in Sector Zero. Lastly, additional Warp Power was added to the United League of Worlds Heavy Cruiser Plus to provide enough energy for the new weaponry, making it one of the highest power generating vessels of its class.

DESIGNER NOTES:

Just prior to the launch of the Survival Fleet for Sector Zero, the United League of Worlds made breakthrough discoveries in their technogies. Not only did they stabilize a heavier version of their Prototype Tractor-Repulsor Beam, but they also developed the Phaser-1, something previously unseen before in Sector Zero.

The result was the United League of Worlds Heavy Cruiser Plus, something they themselves would have called "Advanced Technology," although it wasn't true Advanced Technology. Clearly, this was a fast, powerful, state-of-the-art cruiser capable of matching enemy vessels much larger than itself. However, due to the cost of upgrading a standard United League of Worlds Heavy Cruiser, the Heavy Cruiser Plus would never have been risked so recklessly in battle. It would have been kept safe in reserve, called forward only for the most important of tasks and only at the most critical moment.

REBIRTH
STARDATE 11.13.21

Link to previous Fiction

The Shuttlepod slowly descended into the live volcano. All around it, hot lava splashed and crashed, furious that it could not reach the shuttle. For the way was only safe to one who knew the exact route to take. Down the shuttlepod went, lower and lower into the fiery abyss.

Alighieri was sweating profusely at this point. He hated coming to this place, but he had no choice. Long ago, he made the cowardly decision to give in to temptation. Now, he had to continually pay the price.

At the bottom, Alighieri found himself in a dark wood, a section protected from the lava that was restrained above it. He emerged from the shuttlepod, an older figure wrapped in a long robe, and then proceeded into the darkness.

It wasn't long before Alighieri encountered the three Beasts: a red Pterodactyl with a beak shaped like a saw, a Lion with a mane made of snakes, and a Goat with nine horns and bat wings. The Beasts stared at Alighieri with anger and hatred. They did not want him to pass, but they knew it must be allowed. So they slowly parted, allowing him to walk past them. Behind the Beasts, hung on trees, many humanoid figures writhed in endless torment.

Alighieri crossed a drawbridge and stood before two giant iron doors. Scrawled above the double doors, written in blood, were the words, "Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here." Alighieri did not hesitate after glancing at the sign. He walked forward, as if the two doors were not there. The iron doors creaked open for him and closed after him, embracing him like a long lost lover.

Alighieri was in a strange, inverted castle. He descended a circular stone stairway that brought him deeper and deeper into the dark.

Oddly enough, there was a river cutting through the stone floor at the bottom where Alighieri found himself. The waters were solid black and smelled of death. Alighieri waited patiently at the edge of the river full of black water.

A Boatman came in a long narrow boat. The robed figure did not look directly at Alighieri, but bade him enter his boat. Once more, Alighieri acted without hesitation. He took his seat in the thin vessel and waited for the Boatman to do his duty. Alighieri had been here many times before.

Once on the other side, the Boatman motioned to exit his craft. Alighieri departed, not looking back at the Boatman, not saying a word to the Boatman, or acknowledging him in any way. For the Boatman was trapped in his penance, just as he was.

Alighieri made his way through the stone corridors of the Inner Castle. He passed many horrible, ungodly things, things so terrible they would drive you mad in your nightmares. Children, whores, traitors, madmen, schemers, liars, betrayers, deceivers, seducers, charlatans, frauds, manipulators, those filled with pride, haters, killers, torturers, thieves, and countless others who had committed wrongs, were being tormented over and over. Their suffering would never end. Neither would Alighieri's.

Upon entering the Throne Room, Alighieri got on his hands and knees. He crawled like a worm, slowly inching his way toward the Throne on the far side. The stones that made up the floor were solid black with bright red blood flowing around their outer edges. When Alighieri reached the base of the Throne, he prostrated himself before the Dark Figure sitting atop it.

For a moment, the Figure shined like a bright Angel, a Morning Star to light a new day. But the light quickly faded, giving way to eyes full of malice, hatred, sadness, malevolence, anger, contempt, and pain. The Dark Being stared down at Alighieri and then forced him to rise by merely waving with one hand.

"Speak."

"My Lord. Everything transpires as you have ordered. More and more representatives in the Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems are coming under our control. Whether it be by threat of force, offers of wealth, regular sexual promiscuity, blackmail, threats against loved ones, or promises of power, even strong willed representatives are giving sway. The Deathbringers are assaulting key locations throughout the Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems, reveling in all the death and bloodshed. Plans are in motion to disrupt the Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems' logistics, supply chains, food distribution, and resource gathering. Our scientists are developing countless deadly viruses to unleash on different worlds. Genetic clone splicing and experimentation continues in order to produce hordes of bio-monstrosities. Many different fleets are being amassed beyond the outer edges of Intergalactic Assemblage of Systems' territory. You only have to give the word and these fleets will be ready to strike wherever and whenever you wish."

The Dark Lord stared at Alighieri, saying nothing. Whether he approved or disapproved, whether he was pleased or disappointed, or whether he was angry or satisfied, was not apparent. Alighieri looked downward, even though he was standing, for fear of meeting the Dark One's gaze directly. Finally, the Dark Lord spoke.

"And Ichaborn?"

"He knows nothing, my Lord. Ichaborn is unaware of your presence. He believes that you perished."

"You have done well, Alighieri. Continue to do my will and you may continue to see your family. Your wife and children are waiting for you below. You may see them for six minutes and sixty-six seconds. Then they must return to the Realm of Death, for I cannot allow them to visit the Living for longer than that."

"It is imperative that you keep Ichaborn in the dark regarding my Rebirth. Only at a time of my choosing, will I reveal myself to him. Until then, let him continue to believe that I am dead."

"Ichaborn is a Fool. He Always has been. He Always will be."

"For as long as Good exists...Evil will exist."

BECAUSE, I,...THE FINAL ENEMY,...AM ETERNAL.
