R7.7 Black Widow Carrier. G3, the F&E SIT, and the ships carrier escort has the ship with an availability date of Y169. SH6 in Y167 has the ship defending against a Klingon attack. Is the availability date wrong or is the scenario wrong? Ryan J Opel 10 May 2014

R7.28 Escort Patrol Corvette. G3, the F&E SIT, and the ships carrier escort has the ship with an availability date of Y169. SH6 in Y167 has the ship defending against a Klingon attack. Is the availability date wrong or is the scenario wrong? Ryan J Opel 10 May 2014

Does the prototype rule allow for one or two ships before the general YIS date (don't have books handy)?

By Steve Petrick (Petrick) on Monday, May 19, 2014 - 11:47 am: Edit

According to the notes in the SFB Master Ship Chart, the Year in Service is the beginning of series production, prototypes may have been in service 1-2 years earlier. The appearance of these two ships (Tholian BW and PCE) in Y167 is simply the prototypes being used in combat as part of testing the concept. It is not a contradiction but within the limits of the rules. Other empires were fielding carriers and it was natural for the Tholians to test the concept also.

Note that "series production" is also known as the "Squadron Service Date" when at least three ships of a given class are in service. For Size Class 2 ships the year in service is the prototype date, i.e., when the first ship was launched. Some smaller and easier to produce ships (e.g., size class 4 and smaller in general, some size class 3 ships, i.e., "war cruisers" may have had more than three ships in service on the given "series production date," that is by the end of a full year there may have been more than just three such ships in service.

(R1.44) Module R06 General TSS - Shouldn't the Annex 3 listing for Crew Units be 3+60 as this would be the maximum configuration and not what it is shown on the SSD. - Ken Kazinski, 14 Jun 2014.

(R10.0) Andromedan Invaders

I just noticed that there are 2 CCRs listed. One in the "Andromedan Conquistador Light Cruiser and Variants" section and One in "Andromedan Cobra Medium Satellite Ship and Variants".

The One in the "Cobra" section should be a CBR.

Colonel Strong:

I do not know if "any time soon" can be answered, but there is going to be an update at some point in order to incorporate not just known corrections, but products published since Module G3 was printed.
