Update: I was able to add the most recent plugins from within running 4.2.19, for instance core.jar (Version: 4.2.20 Size: 4395203 Core Client) and, I guess, the FC one. Not sure how different the 4.2.20 plugin is from just installing the 4.2.21 client to begin with (it doesn't seem to offer the additional two panes I thought I'd seen added to the Game Room Selection window), but I seem to be good to go for the moment. Thanks for the link, if I'm gonna have Java on this box I definitely want the very latest.

A couple weeks ago I played a three-player, three-session game, about 15-16 hrs total, and got dropped between 12 and 15 times. It's a serious pain to have to unpack all the windows and re-set up Pieces List columns, etc., over and over. What are some good tips to address being dropped by the Client, and/or to recover the game as-is (my opponents were each dropped only once or twice, if I recall). There's version check of course, do ALL players have to have the exact same version/plugins for smoothest functioning? I note the Restore Game option only now, after that game: has anyone had experience using that successfully? Some additional options are probably in the Client window, other advice might be system-oriented or like "well, to start with, download the latest Java." Is there a link or post somewhere with a bunch of these tips together? If there isn't, perhaps one could be assembled and prominently linked.

Truthfully being dropped seems to be more of a connection issue. I get dropped once in a long while. Most times it happens when I am just on lurking and then go do something for/with the wife. When I get back a hour are so latter I have been kicked off. The few other times it has happened was due to connections on my end. With the slow internet. When the wife started teaching on line we found out that with the service we had. The connection was slow and laggy with all of us online. I had to log off and wait until Her class was done. Updating to a higher speed fixed that. As the wife needs it for Work.

I am online all the time. Most days, day and night. I am not always playing of course, sometimes I am not at my computer at all.

I hardly ever get dropped - like really mostly never. I don't know if somehow playing large fleet engagements with tons of units on the map might somehow impact the connection. If that can't possibly impact the connection itself then I would say the client is very stable.

I have been using the Romulan Civilian Base Station (BSC).

1 - It doesn't allow me to actually launch plasmas from the Plasma D racks.

2 - In addition, when I click on the shuttles in expendables they disappear and there is no way to get them back again, or load anything else into the shuttle bay.

3 - I also think that maybe the shield strength is supposed to be 35 after 175?

Thank you for resolving these issues. I checked and #1 and #2 are definitely resolved. I did in fact look further for information on #3 and the civilian base stations has 30 shields... so you were correct all along!

2 - Romulan SKL SSD shows 2 sets of shields (20 and 24) for shields #3, 4 and 5.

3 - Can I humbly request that a Megafighter be made for the Romulan Trib-F, Glad-D,E, and G-III,E?

4 - When fighters turn, they don't have a point of turn generated. Can we add this?

Rom SAM works fine for me when I launch a shuttle. I am able to replace it.

Re Rom BSC, I confirmed in C3 that the shield is at 30 with Y175 refit.

Can you have those people send me a feedback? Neonpico just reported it to me and it seems that people on Linux and using JDK 16 are having a issue where the counters do not show up.

If other people are experiencing that, I would like to confirm that it is due to JDK 16 and not another unknown issue.

Paul, I played the Fed tourney ship with the G-rack today for the first time. I chose to use type vi drones instead of the ADD. It seems to works ok, I only launched 2 but they got on the map. The problem is the default speed on the type vi drones is speed 8 instead of speed 20. I saw no way to change that before launch and it is very clear what they are if the speed has to be changed after launch. Maybe you could take a look at that. Thanks!

It is supposed to have Type-VIM as an option at owner's discretion once he knows his opponent (instead of ADD's). It is written on the ship SSD at the bottom.

I am able to launch an ADD "drone" from the rack, the problem is that it is speed 8 and not 20.

I am sorry but I don't know if firing the rack as an actual ADD is tracking that ammunition being spent when it is fired that way.

It's been probably about 10 years since my SFBOL account lapsed. Just tried to start a new subscription, but it says JohnSmith is already taken. Looking at the discarded tab, it seems that not all items are getting in that area. I think I can see all my items but lately can not see any of my opponents. As an example, if I want to count drones launched by him and destroyed by me, I can not see those dead drones in the discarded tab.

Slight hiccup re changing speeds for shuttles.

Playing a battle where 4 ST 1g were crippled.
When Majead tried to change their speed to 6 from 12, the client would not allow him to do so.

We're hoping he will be able to change the speed on imp 1 of T2 !

What is the error that he is seeing?

If he is not seeing and error, is he pressing the "Ok" button in the dialog that pops up to change the speed?
