Notes for future development. In theory another box like AM but more likely some rules added to R11 and/or R12.
Seeking photons (mode of photon launch)
Fractional Tractors (less energy to grab a drone)
Split shield (half damage to each shield, but only half of the shield counts against damage).
Communications and jamming of communications.
Some kewell new drones.
More later. This is all true but just to get buzz.

Extreme Missions
Several active discussion topics on the BBS are being monitored for possible use in the future SFB module Extreme Missions. Some of these include:
Advanced Cloaking Device proposed by Andy Palmer.
Advanced Ground Vehicle Combat by Loren Knight.
Andromedan Medium TR beam by Hugh Bishop.
Anti-Tank Squad by Andy Palmer.
Crab Drones by Michael John Campbell.
Close Combat Seeking Weapons by Les Leblanc.
Delayed Wild Weasel by Kirk Spencer.
Downloading (or shotgunning) Plasma-Fs as Plasma-D/Ks.
Drone Anti-Tractor Module by Dan Ibekwe.
Fighter Bombs by Xander Fulton.
Gravity Mines by Jeff Wile.
Heavy EW megafighters by John Wyszynski.
Improved ADD munitions by Jeff Wile.
Long-Range Probes by Loren Knight.
New Manuever: Axial Role by Stephen Fairfield.
Plasmatic Pulsar Carbine by Jim Davies.
Smoke Probe Rounds by John Trauger.
Tholian and Hydran EW by Glenn Hoepfner.
Do NOT discuss these proposals here. This topic is ONLY for discussion of the overall concept of the product (whether to do it, what kinds of things to include).

Here's a concept. Do Extreme missions. For one thing, it would allow us to do "new counters like the half inch counters in FC for SFB". But new counters are not enough. We would need something else, perhaps several something elses....
New scenarios? Do these really sell?
A grab bag of new rules (see above).
The long-awaited ship design/modification rules?
New ships (cannibalizing module R11-12-13?)
A new race (xorkaelians?)
Thoughts? Remember, NO discussion of the rules for a particular thing, only a discussion of the categories of things that might be in the product.

I posted an idea for a 'type-V' for Vertical Launch System drone rack. http://www.starfleetgames.com/discus/messages/12031/8439.html?1094863739
It would seem to me to be a candidate for EM.

Just “thinking outside of the box” for a moment...
Following the “theme” of Extreme Missions could address non military extreme missions such as civilian colonies of harsh environments on non M class worlds.
For example, civilian style planetary ground units (similar to the existing Planetary Defense Units (PDU) on water worlds or toxic atmosphere worlds.
Specifically, I am suggesting rules for handling “domed colonies.”
This shouldn’t be a huge project, just a rule set for handling small civilian populations in harsh conditions (such as airless zero atmosphere worlds.) Perhaps just adding a few Civilian ground Station units to the R1.XXX PDU ground modules so that, in addition to military power grids on a hostile atmosphere planet, civilian power grids could be present.
No offensive weapons, but even civilian ground stations could have a phaser 3 (or two) present. Possibly 2 boarding parties in each module. Hull, shields, lab(hospital). Up to 10 civilian crew units in each. Some number of APRs.
The modules should be able to be connected to the existing power grids of PDU’s. Power generated by civilian bases could be used by the PDU in combat.
Might even allow for representing civilian colonies in SFBs scenarios with out any Military PDU present. Or just with an operations base.

Seeking photons sounds wicked cool.
Fractal tractors and new drones-yes, please.

I started a story about a defense of a pirate attack on an moonlet mining colony. With some rules about the locals, etc.
Didn't really go anywhere. I am fairly bad a SFB so I couldn't balance it. I would LOVE for someone to really run through it to tell me where the Starship combat is good/ meh/ wrong and then some more on the background stuff.
Any takers?
