Star Fleet Battles Module Y3 SSD Book Available from Multiple Sources

The Dawn of War! Return again to the Early Years era, the wars before the wars that defined a galaxy.

The Star Fleet Battles Module Y3 SSD Book is now available in print and as an e-book. As an e-book, you now have a choice of the original black-and-white SSDs or the new color ones. This SSD book from SFB Module Y3 covers ships from the Early Years era for the Alpha Octant empires. Included are battleships to face the Klingon B4 battleship (found in SFB Module Y2); ships from species who would form the United Federation of Planets; ships from the Paravians and Carnivons; ships from the species who would form the Inter-Stellar Concordium; as well as ships from the Klingons, Romulans, Kzintis, Gorns, Tholians, Orions, Lyrans, and WYNs.

Published in 2010, this book meets current standards including the Crawford Box with the command rating, docking points, explosion strength, and year in service.

Star Fleet Battles: Playtest Module E3 Available from Multiple Sources

"Sir, it looks like a dragon!"
"Ensign, hush! It is a Borak and we need to stay on good terms with them. No need for them to ally with the Hydrans."
"Sir, what does a Borak warship look like?"
"Ensign, we hope we never have to know that."

The Borak Star League existed beyond Hydran space and was conquered by the Hydrans in the Early Years.

The Hydrans later used the existence of the Borak to trick the Coalition into believing that the Hydrans had a powerful potential ally bordering their Lost Colonies region.

The 56-page rulebook includes all conversion data for general units to Borak service. The Borak Star League uses only phasers as direct-fire weapons, employing the mega-phaser first seen in Module P6 as its heavy weapon (rules included). It employs remote-controlled suicide fighters (armed with anti-matter bombs normally seen on suicide shuttles) as its seeking weapon of choice. A full set of annexes are included, but there are no scenarios.

The 76-page SSD book includes such Borak Early Years ships as the early heavy cruiser and warp-refitted heavy cruiser and other ships for battles in the Early Years period, as well as the advanced technology command cruiser and other ships for battles in the X-period. The Middle Years period sees the deployment of the Borak Expansion-Class heavy cruiser and other ships, leading to the General War era heavy cruiser and its supporting ships. A full range of fast patrol ships and supporting fast patrol ship tenders, plus the bases of the Borak are provided as SSDs. Also included is the Borak Star League's fast destroyer used as part of a raiding pack behind enemy lines.

Star Fleet Times was the official newsletter for the Star Fleet Universe from 1995-2000. It ceased publication with issue #50 because Internet had made it obsolete. SFT was published about 10 times a year. Each issue included current events, announcements, tactics, questions and answers, tournament listings, playtest ships and scenarios, etc.

This pack includes six ship cards for Federation Commander, representing the primary ship class types of the Frax Empire. The Frax are a fictitious "simulator empire" invented by the Klingons for use in combat training. They have disruptors and phaser-1s mounted in FX and RX firing arcs (hence the name "Frax") along with phaser-3s and drones. (The Frax are based on "wet navy warship designs" and were used to train Klingon captains to deal with unusual ships.) The Frax "inhabit" the fictitious "border state" between the Klingons and Kzintis, and were the subject of hundreds of simulated "wargames" used for training Klingon officers.

Star Fleet Battles: Basic Set Rulebook Available from Multiple Sources

The Basic Set is the entry point into the Star Fleet Battles game system. With this rulebook, you can command a starship! What you have seen, you can do for yourself. This introduction to the game includes rules for the Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Kzinti, Gorn, Tholian, and Orion ships.

The Basic Set Rulebook was last edited in 2005. It contains rules, the backgrounds of seven empires, descriptions of their ships, and lots of scenarios. There are nine general scenarios (so generic that they happened many times), five historical scenarios (ones that tell about a real incident in the Star Fleet Universe), four monster scenarios (these are for the planet crusher, space amoeba, moray eel of space, and cosmic cloud), two mini-campaigns, and one full campaign.

Star Fleet Battles: Playtest Module E4 - The Peladine Republic Available

Within the Lyran Far Stars Duchy is one of the also-rans of history: the Peladine Republic. Just as they were about to expand from their home system, the Lyrans conquered them. While the Peladines never became a power, their ships and technology were entered into the Lyran databases and used to train Lyran naval officers how to deal with the unexpected: in this case, ships armed not just with drones, but with plasma torpedoes which were immune to ESGs. This playtest pack presents the Peladine Republic making them available for testing under the Star Fleet Battles game system.

Included here are SSDs for 64 ships, from the police corvette to the battleship and four advanced technology ships. Conversion data for all generic units (starbases, monitors, etc.) are provided. Also provided are fast patrol ships, interceptors, fighters, and bombers to fully integrate the Peladine Republic as a campaign capable empire. Also included are a complete set of annexes, all in a 110-page book.

This is a playtest product; the empire needs testing. Reports should be sent to ADB, Inc. for use in developing a formal product. Some "art" is not included in this playtest package.
