I suffered a painful fall on today's Wolf walk. My knees hurt bad enough to make walking difficult and dangerous. Just sitting at the office holding an ice bag to my knees was too much so I went home.

Rough night, extreme pain in knees, not much sleep. Cannot walk. Stuck in wheelchair, already lost yesterday's work, will not get to office today, if I am in this state tomorrow I won't make it then.

Pain continues, severe. Mega painkillers I can take every sixth hour give me one hour of relative relief. Barely able to clamber into wheelchair for rest room trips, which hurts legs more.

Things are better. I switched to another kind of painkiller and it worked better.

Midnight check in. Left leg is fine but it hasn't hurt today. Funny, it was the more seriously hurt one Saturday. Maybe it's good today because it got all the ice yesterday.

Right leg is definitely "no go" right now. It's a serious ache, not too bad on the pain part, but from the toes up to the hip. The painkillers are holding that at bay but the hourly trip to the bathroom is murder.

Because someone asked I can say it was not a micro stroke as I never lost consciousness. It was not a minor heart attack as there was no chest pain. I was walking on pavement and must have stepped on a pebble and skidded.

At my desk. Very sore in right shoulder apparently a torn muscle from the fall. Right knee is functional but weak. Walking to the bathroom is plausible with care. Walking around the block is beyond my reach for today. I have to be very careful where I put my feet under the desk or the swelling in either knee locks up that leg and I can't stand on it for a while. Not sure how much work will get done but I'm here.

Back at my desk. Random pains from the fall but I'm otherwise more or less functional.

At 2:07am this morning, lightning/wind destroyed a power pole a block from house house (in the exurbs) and knocked out power. Not sure when we'll have power back as the storm knocked out a dozen random bits of electric grid infrastructure this morning. Had very nice chats with the power company and with the county road department (the wind blew over the stop sign on my corner.

Got a phone call (good news). My routine heart stress test shows that I "have the heart arteries of a 17-year-old" (not sure which 17-year-old, but don't argue) and while my heart is weaker than it should be from not enough exercise there's nothing wrong with it.
